Andy Anderson scored his first top ten finishes in the Finishline UK Ltd Classic Stock Hatch Championship at Silverstone in his Suzuki Swift GTi.

The former rally driver from Scotland finished ninth in race one and then a season best so far of eight in the second race at Silverstone in the ex-Suzuki Swift Challenge car, which was previously raced by Craig Robertson in the championship.

Sundays race I qualified 12th. Again managed to make 2 places on the first lap. Midway I had a close call with a spinning car at Hall bends! Please to just finish as the damage was slowly eating my tyre. Managed to finish 8th.

Cold track temperature coupled with wrong tyre pressures meant I had poor back end grip and only managed to qualify 12th. Minor adjusts made for the race saw me able to get a couple of places on lap one. I gained another towards the end as a car lost it into the Gooseneck and managed to finish 9th. Happy with that, roll on Race Two tomorrow.

Eventful first lap for race two. Qualified 8th and found myself on the outside on the entrance to Paddock Hill and I run out of track, pushing me down to 11th. Got my head down and passed a few and a few fell off the track during the race. So really pleased to finish 6th and again with the fastest lap. Result!

Very happy with that. Qualified 7th. Finished 4th 0.2secs behind 2nd & 3rd. Icing on the cake was I got the fastest lap!

Over the moon. Started 11th. I changed the set up and it worked perfectly. 9 years since my last podium and that was here too!

Happy with that. Qualifying was difficult in the wet conditions and I couldn’t get a good lap in, so started 14th. Race had the same conditions but I managed to make the best of it and with the help of some falling off the track, managed to finish 7th. Looking forward to race tomorrow morning as it should be dry and I’m starting 11th.
