*FREEBIE ALERT*
Wouldn't it be great to have a super power to fight your way out of any tricky situation? No one would mess with you and you could walk anywhere without fear of being attacked.
The reality, however, is that violence has a tendency to breed more violence and there’s the threat of multiple opponents and weapons to deal with. Our laws in the UK allow for using reasonable force to defend yourself but anything excessive may land you in prison.
Even better, wouldn’t it be great to have a super power that helped you to avoid violence and any conflict? Well, most people already have that super power - it’s called intuition and they just need a little help in harnessing its true potential.
So, we’re teaming up with Essex Police and EFDC to run a free workshop teaching you how to avoid trouble and stay safe (soft skills) and some ninja moves if you need to defend yourself using reasonable force (hard skills).
We’ll cover 6 modules: situational awareness, de-escalation, escapes, pre-emptive and defensive strikes, knife awareness and improvised weapons, the law and reasonable force.
Due to the worrying statistics regarding violence against women, these workshops are aimed at girls and women aged 11 years and older but, being inclusive, boys and men are welcome too.
Just go to https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/walk-with-us-self-defence-class-tickets-617773566367 to register your place.
Oh! And the best thing about it is that’s it’s FREE.
