East Midlands Sport Welfare Officers, in collaboration with Swim England East Midlands are hosting a free training session for Swim England affiliated clubs in the East Midlands.

📅 Thursday 7th May 2026 | 6:00pm–7:00pm | Online

Active Bystander training is designed to empower individuals, particularly those in sports, leisure, and community roles, to recognise, challenge, and prevent harmful behaviours, such as harassment, abuse, and discrimination.

Delivered by expert tutors from NWG Network, this session is for coaches, club welfare officers, volunteers, and anyone in your clubs who wants to get better at speaking up when things aren’t right.

REMINDER: Upcoming free Sport Welfare Event for clubs in the East Midlands:
Neurodivergence Inclusion in Community Sport – FREE Bitesize Learning Session for East Midlands Sports Clubs and Physical Activity Organisations.
East Midlands Sport Welfare Officers, in collaboration with Access Sport, are offering a free introductory learning session for clubs and organisations in the East Midlands.
Thursday 30th April 2026 |7:00pm–8:00pm | On Line
Delivered by expert tutors from national sports inclusion charity Access Sport
This session is for coaches, club welfare officers and other volunteers in your clubs.
Purpose of this session is to give you an introduction to creating sport environments in which neurodivergent participants feel welcomed and a sense of belonging.
What will you get out of this session?
• Enhanced confidence and ability to engage with neurodivergent participants and cater to various needs
• Ability to enhance inclusivity for current participants, and create a welcoming space for future participants

*LIVE STREAMING AT CHAMPS*

For the last three years, we have been very lucky to have the use of the incredible brain and experience of a young volunteer to provide the live stream for the Regional Championships.

This year Aaron will be taking his A-Levels, and has made the mature decision not to attend to ensure he can fully prepare for his exams.

Therefore we will not be offering a stream of the Championships this year.

We hope to reintroduce the stream come November, as we know many of you make use of this facility.
