I’m overwhelmed by the response to the Mindful Pilates session I taught as part of the Pilates and Your Whole Self programme.

Are you an early morning exerciser? Lots of the JTP family like to get their Pilates practice in as soon as they can and love the Kick Start Pilates sessions. This includes some of my one-one family, who love to get on the reformer early doors and get set up for the day ahead.

I love teaching squats in my Pilates classes.

The ‘potty’ squat as I refer to it, is not a ‘classic’ Pilates movement, but it is a functional movement.

We use it everyday in our lives when we are lifting, sitting, standing, climbing stairs, gardening, cleaning - generally everyday movement for everyday life.

When we do a squat we use big muscle groups that help to stabilise and support the body which help us if we participate in sport. Squats can also help with pelvic floor work and waking up the muscles closer to the spine to help prevent injury and damage.

I definitely couldn’t keep up with my granddaughter and do all the other things I love to do if I didn’t work on these muscle groups in my classes.

We all want to live healthy, active lives don’t we? Functional movements in my daily Pilates classes help us to do that.

I’m back in my online studio tomorrow from 9.30am for some Morning Movement … there will probably be some squats in there.

Someone asked me which of my online classes are most popular?

It’s definitely the early Kick Start sessions.

These sessions are shorter in duration so can be fitted in before work, and they get us energised and motivated for the day.

Friday’s class is always a bit special so I look forward to seeing everyone in the morning.

Time for Change ?

Its a funny old time of year, November means the end of Autumn and the beginning of winter. 🌨💨

It can be a challenge for some of us, SAD can affect lots of people as we have less hours of daylight. And this can bring low mood, a loss of enjoyment in everyday activities, lacking in energy and craving carbohydrates. 😔

So I want to help those who are already beginning to feel the heaviness that can take hold. ☺️

One of the things I love most about my job as a Pilates and movement teacher is when my classes motivate people to move more 👍

Daily exercise can help boost your immune system, and as we head unto the winter this is more important than ever. 🤗

My classes are easily accessible, and if you can’t make the live sessions, all classes are recorded and available in the members website later that day. 👍

The classes are also different lengths from 15 minutes on the days you don’t have much time to 45 minutes for the days you do. 👏

If attending the live classes with JTP doesn’t work for you, the times might not fit into your schedule because of work or other commitments … it really doesn’t matter 😉

All my classes are recorded so you can do them at a time that is more suitable for you - like Margaret …
