Hi all,
I wanted you to hear this from me directly.
After a lot of thought, I’ve agreed to sell Sirius to Bella Poppy and Completion is expected by 27 June.
Before anything else, I want to reassure you that classes will continue as normal during the handover, and your current membership cost will not change as part of this transition.
This has not been a quick or easy decision, because Sirius and all that came before it, has been a massive part of my life for such a long time, but it does feel like the right decision.
Sirius deserves someone who can bring fresh energy, ideas and focus to the group training side.
That’s where Bella comes in.
This isn’t Sirius being left to drift. Quite the opposite. Bella is already looking at ways to improve the space, freshen things up and build on what is already here. There are plans being looked at for refurbishment work, including new flooring and improvements to the layout of the gym. An architect is coming in soon to help map out the space properly, and once those exciting plans are clearer, Bella will share more detail with you directly.
I know change can feel a bit unsettling, especially when you care about the place, the people and the routine. That is completely understandable. But I do genuinely believe this is a positive next step for Sirius.
What has been built here is good. The training, the community, the atmosphere, the weird shared enjoyment of suffering through horrible circuits on a wet Tuesday morning. That doesn’t disappear just because the business changes hands.
Bella will be in touch over the coming weeks with more information about her plans, and what things will look like moving forward.
For now, I just want to say thank you.
Whether you’ve been here for years or only joined recently, you’ve helped make Sirius what it is. I’m very proud of that, and I’m grateful for the support you’ve given me along the way.
I’ll still be around during the handover, and for a few weeks after and if anyone wants to talk to me about it, just give me a shout.
Thanks again,
Spence
