A huge congratulations to QJFC’s U18s team, who have won the Leicestershire Youth League trophy in their final season of junior football. ⚽️ 🎉

⚽️⚽️ Sunday Highlights/Results ⚽️⚽️

*Loughborough Dynamo 2 Quorn Terriers under 18s 1*

Despite playing on Loughborough Dynamos stadium pitch under the glorious sunshine - our final game didn’t deliver a fairy tale ending.

Having dominated the first half, including having a goal disallowed - we found ourselves 2-0 down at the break to two break away goals.

In the second half our intensity increased further and we pulled one back with 15 minutes to go. With ten to go we had another goal disallowed. Despite this, we kept pushing, creating several more opportunities that unfortunately we were unable to capitalise on.

We’ll carry on training for a few more weeks but our competitive fixtures are over.
With just a few league games left for other teams - it looks like we will finish second in the division but more importantly- it’s been 14 years of fun and friendship.

Thanks to all committee members for the support over the years. The club can’t run without you. And to the coaches - know you make a huge difference to the kids and their parents ⚪️ ⚽️ ⚫️.

Quorn Terriers U12 6 Hinckley 1

I don’t think I could have written a better way to close the season!

On a beautiful Sunday spring morning, we were the better team for most of the first half, playing the ball around nicely and creating the better chances. Whilst Hinckley had a couple of opportunities, we deservedly went in 2-0 at the break after two excellent finishes.

We got an early goal in the second half to put the game beyond Hinckley and whilst the first ten minutes were a bit scrappy after the break, the result was never In doubt. We scored an outstanding long range goal, which was followed up by a well taken finish from our right winger.

But the highlight of the morning has to be throwing our centre back up front for the final 5 minutes and seeing the wild celebrations after he got his first ever goal for Quorn Juniors with a well taken finish (having been with us since mini kickers!). Scenes!!

If there’s ever any doubt in my mind why we do this, moments like those make it!

Well done to all the boys for a really good season - just four losses in the league and two of those against the side who will probably go into win it. We’ve got better and better as the season has progressed and they should all be very proud of themselves.

Next stop, 11 aside football!
