We were in Parliament this week for Drowning Prevention Week, where we welcomed the RLSS’ new report on child drownings in England.

It was a valuable opportunity to come together with partners across the sector 🤝 to highlight the importance of water safety education 🌊.

The event also coincided with the launch of new resources designed to build lifesaving skills 🛟 and strengthen water safety knowledge through practical activities and key benchmarks 📚.

We're looking back to great weekend at the Diving Youth Development camp last weekend 🙌

32 athletes from across England (and guest programmes) came together with 12 coaches and a fantastic support team to learn, try new skills and enjoy plenty of time in and out of the pool 💪

Across the camp there were pool sessions, dryland activities, workshops and team‑building - all in a positive, supportive environment focused on building confidence and enjoying the diving journey 😄🌟

Lots of learning, lots of laughs and great energy all round 👏

Here at Swim England, we’re proud to support the Royal Life Saving Society UK’s Drowning Prevention Week, taking place from 13 to 20 June. It’s a great reminder of how we can all stay safe and look out for each other around water 💙

The Water Safety Code is a simple guide to help you enjoy every swim safely:

🔵 Stop and think – take a moment to spot potential dangers
🔵 Stay together – always stay close to others and never swim alone
🔵 Float – if you fall in, lie on your back, relax and breathe
🔵 Call for help – shout for help and call 999 or 112

Whether you’re heading to the pool, coast or open water, these small steps can make a big difference. Let’s make every visit to the water a safe one 🌊
