🐺 Wednesday Night Wolves

The Wolves were away at Sutton Bonington on Wednesday 10th June, facing a challenging green that was testing at times throughout the evening.

Despite the conditions, the team put in a strong performance, winning on two of the three rinks and securing an excellent 6-2 victory overall.

There were plenty of close heads and hard-fought ends along the way, but the Wolves managed to keep their noses in front where it mattered and came away with the points.

A great team effort and another positive result to keep the season moving in the right direction. Well played to everyone involved!

🟢 Men’s Monday Afternoon League

A fantastic afternoon for the Wymeswold Men’s team as they secured an emphatic 8-0 victory over Sutton Bonington.

Strong performances across all three rinks saw Wymeswold take maximum points, making it a very successful day on the green and a result the team can be proud of.

Needless to say, Team Captain Colin was a very happy man at the end of the afternoon, having watched his side deliver a superb all-round performance!

Congratulations to everyone involved and here’s hoping the team can carry this momentum into the next fixture.

🍔🍺 Bowls, BBQ & Beer – What a Day!

Our Bowls, BBQ & Beer event on Sunday 7th June was a fantastic success, bringing together existing members, new members, and plenty of people trying bowls for the very first time at Wymeswold Bowls Club.

The weather was kind to us, the rain stayed away, and we managed to enjoy a couple of rinks of Wymeswold Bowls Mayhem – the game with "no rules" that somehow manages to have lots of rules!

One of the highlights of the day was welcoming six new members to the club. It's great to see so many people discovering what bowls, and our club, are all about.

A huge thank you goes to Terry, whose barbecue skills kept everyone well fed, ably supported by Linda, while Bob kept refreshments flowing behind the bar throughout the afternoon.

Most importantly, it was wonderful to see so many people enjoying themselves, having a laugh, making new friends, and spending time together on and off the green.

Following the success of the day, we're already looking forward to more social events in the coming months, including our Quiz Night and Bastille Day celebrations.

Bowls, a sport for all!

🟡Players Defy the Elements During Second Bowls England Disability Open Day 🟡

Despite having to battle through the wind and the rain and everything else the British summer has to offer, Olveston and District Bowling Club played host to another hugely successful Bowls England Disability Open Day this weekend.

The event brought together a mix of new bowlers, players experienced on the green and enthusiastic coaches, all eager to familiarise themselves with adaptive equipment against the backdrop of a welcoming and inclusive environment in Olveston.

🏆 Wymeswold Representing Leicestershire

Congratulations to Lyn, Carol, Linda and Kath, who were all representing Leicestershire County at Leamington Spa in their match against Oxfordshire.

The Leicestershire team put in a fantastic performance, securing an impressive 107–82 victory overall 👏

It's always a proud moment to see Wymeswold players pulling on county colours and competing at such a high level. We are delighted to have four of our members representing both the club and the county.

Well done to Lyn, Carol, Linda and Kath on a great result and for flying the flag for Wymeswold Bowls Club! 💚

A brilliant morning for Aussie Pairs on Saturday 23rd May at Wymeswold Bowls Club ☀️

With the sun blazing and a great turnout on the green, it was fantastic to see both new and familiar faces enjoying the morning and making the most of the beautiful weather.

Aussie Pairs always makes for a fun and competitive format, with plenty of good bowls, great company, and a few laughs along the way.

If you fancy giving it a go, we play every Saturday morning from 10:15am. Whether you’re a regular player or completely new to bowls, you’ll be made very welcome.
