💙 A little change to how we share our swimmers online 💙
As a business, we regularly review our safeguarding and privacy practices to make sure we’re doing everything we can to protect our little swimmers.
With the online world changing so quickly, particularly with the development of AI and the increasing ability for photographs and videos to be altered, we’ve decided to take an extra precautionary step when it comes to sharing children’s images.
We want to reassure all of our families that nothing has happened involving any of our swimmers, and there has been no incident or concern relating to any of our clients.
This is simply a proactive decision we’ve made because the world is changing, technology is changing, and as a business we feel our safeguarding practices should change with it.
Going forward, we will no longer routinely share identifiable photographs or videos of children on our public social-media page, even where we have previously received parental permission.
We will also be slowly working through our existing social-media page and removing the identifiable photographs and videos of our little swimmers that we already have on there. This will take a little bit of time, as we have lots of lovely memories we’ve shared over the years, but we feel this is the right thing to do moving forward.
We’ll still be sharing plenty of the magic that happens in our lessons — achievements, swimming progress, our amazing instructors and those lovely pool moments — just in ways where our little swimmers aren’t readily identifiable.
And of course, parents are more than welcome to take their own photographs and videos of their little ones during lessons, so you can still capture those special moments and keep those memories for yourselves.
If you would like us to take some photographs or videos during your little one’s lesson for you to keep, just ask your instructor! We’re always more than happy to capture those special moments for you.
We know how much parents love seeing their little ones’ achievements celebrated, and that’s something we absolutely want to continue. We’re simply putting an extra layer of privacy around the children who mean so much to us.
Nothing has prompted this change other than the world we live in today. We’re looking ahead, being proactive and putting our little swimmers’ safety and privacy first. Always.
Thank you for trusting us with your little ones. 💙
