If you ever doubted whether teaching children to ride bikes is worth it, just listen to this Seafield Primary School pupils's pure joy in this video!
Cycling is a lifelong skill and we all know how much it benefits our mental health and fitness, as well as being kinder to the planet, but one of the first things we noticed when we started delivering Bikeability in 2017, was how many pupils couldn't ride a bike.
In rural areas, cycling is often a vital way to travel, but not all families are able buy their children bikes, or access safe spaces to teach them how to cycle, which is why Bikeability is such a great project.
To help more families into cycling, our Bike Revolution (Delivery) team support pupils to start cycling alongside our Bikeability sessions in Moray schools, plus they have a range of adapted bikes for more inclusive sessions.
We also sell refurbished children's (and adults) bikes to make cycling more affordable and run family cycling activities during the school holidays, along with our popular bike skills sessions for ages 5+ (which often sells out through our newsletter).
