Back out today after a couple of days in for weather with strong Easterlies bringing a halt to what's been an extremely busy and thankfully settled spell.
Whilst drift fishing for sharks, the long rod lit up and after what I can only describe as one of the more technical battles with a fish we have had for a long time, Del boy managed to get this fish alongside to be measured, recovered and released.
What a fish and what a battle. At 95", it's a season best so far and a big PB for Del who did a smashing job on the rod. Proper teamwork aboard today with James, Dave, Al and, of course my wingman John all doing their bit to get this fish safely alongside.
A solitary blue shark came at pretty much the same time as this one and that was our lot. One to remember for sure.
Back on the reefs tomorrow...
Will attempt to keep updates more regular but fishing has been full on back to back days and I've let them slip a bit so I can spend some precious time with the kids when I get home.
Safe to say though, this season has been epic so far on many levels. โ๏ธ
