How are you really doing mentally?

We all like to look our best, but true wellbeing starts from within. Before focusing on changing your appearance, take a moment to check in with your health—both mental and physical.

When you prioritize your health, the benefits go far beyond what you see in the mirror:

After an incredible weekend at Download Festival, the journey home ended exactly how you’d expect… 🍔🍟🤘

And do you know what?

That’s absolutely fine.

Too many people think one burger and fries will somehow undo weeks or months of good habits. It won’t.

As a fitness and nutrition coach etc, one of the biggest lessons I try to teach is that your body responds to what you do consistently, not occasionally.

One meal doesn’t make you unhealthy.
One workout doesn’t make you fit.
It’s what you do most of the time that matters.

Life is for living. Enjoy the festival. Enjoy the burger. Get back to your normal routine tomorrow.

No guilt. No punishment. No “I’ll start again today”

Nobody talks about this part...

The moment when you start feeling better.

Not because you’ve lost a lot of weight.

Not because you’ve got abs.

Not because you’ve completely transformed your body.

But because you begin to believe in yourself again.

You sleep better.

You have more energy.

You stop hiding from photos.

You stop avoiding mirrors.

You stop telling yourself you’re not good enough.

And gradually...

Without even realising it...

A CLIENT ALMOST QUIT BEFORE SESSION 1

A woman once messaged me before her very first session and said:

“I don’t think I can do this… I’m too embarrassed.”

She nearly cancelled.

Not because she was lazy.
Not because she didn’t want to change.

To the people who are overweight and not just nervous… but genuinely terrified to walk into a gym…

I understand you 100%.

For some people, stepping into a gym feels impossible. The fear of being judged, stared at, or feeling out of place is very real. But please believe me when I say this — the benefits, both physically and mentally, can completely change your life.

Before you stop reading any further, please hear me out.

As a personal trainer, strength coach, sports nutritionist, and someone who has worked with people from all walks of life, I’ve seen first-hand just how powerful taking that first step can be.

I’ve trained people with severe anxiety, low confidence, mobility issues, and people who simply felt like they didn’t belong in a gym environment. A lot of people think dry needling is just for athletes, but it can actually help everyday aches and pains too 😊

Dry needling uses very thin needles to help release tight muscles, reduce pain, improve movement, and ease tension in the body.

It can be really helpful for people who:
✔️ Sit at a desk all day
✔️ Get neck or back pain
✔️ Suffer with headaches or tension
✔️ Feel stiff or tight
✔️ Train or go to the gym
✔️ Have physical jobs
✔️ Are recovering from injury

The goal is to help the muscles relax, improve mobility, and get you moving more comfortably again 💪

This throwback pic of me is from 12 years ago 👀😳🏋🏼 and yes 100% natural 💪

Made me think about a couple of habits that honestly make a massive difference to body composition — especially if you’re already trying to eat better.

First one… cutting back on the alcohol.

And before people start blaming carbs, sugar, or fats for everything, if booze isn’t near the top of the list to address first, you’re probably making things harder for yourself than they need to be.

Drinking less doesn’t just cut calories either. You sleep better, feel better mentally, recover better, and it becomes way easier to stick to good eating habits consistently.

Second habit… lifting weights.

Getting stronger changes everything. You build and maintain muscle, burn fat more effectively, improve your shape, and honestly just feel better in yourself.

Combine those two habits with a decent diet and you’ll get far better results than wasting money on internet supplements or gimmicks promising quick fixes.

Simple stuff. Not always easy, but definitely worth it.

You’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain 💪
