Unfortunately, we have made the decision to cancel Cubs this evening.

With all the torrential rain throughout the week, the pitch is simply too wet for us to run the session. Even if the rain stops tomorrow, the ground won't have enough time to dry out.

We're really disappointed to have to cancel again, but unfortunately we can't control the weather! ☔

We'll keep everything crossed for some sunshine and look forward to seeing everyone back at Cubs next Friday ☀️🏏

🏏 Cubs Cancelled – Friday 5th June

Unfortunately, we've made the decision to cancel Cubs tomorrow evening.

After the heavy rainfall we've had throughout the week, combined with more rain forecast, the ground is simply too wet for us to safely run the session.

Even if the weather improves tomorrow, the outfield won't have enough time to dry out sufficiently for nearly 50 children to safely take part.

The safety of the children is always our number one priority, and whilst we're disappointed to have to make this decision, we know it's the right one.

Thank you to all of our Cubs families for your understanding.

We'll keep everything crossed for some drier weather and look forward to welcoming everyone back on Friday 12th June ☀️🏏

What a brilliant first night of Cubs! 🏏🙌

48 children getting involved, giving cricket a go and having lots of fun

The weather was… let’s say “a bit breezy and cold” 🥶😂 but that certainly didn’t stop everyone enjoying themselves!

A huge thank you to all of our volunteers and coaches for helping make the first session such a success 👏

And thank you to all the parents and carers for being part of the LCC community and supporting the children each week, it really does make a difference

We’re already looking forward to doing it all again next Friday 🏏✨

✨ Thursday night was a really special moment for Longridge CC 💚🏏

Our girls played in the club’s first ever girls league game, and what a brilliant evening it was!

The girls should all be incredibly proud of themselves. There were smiles, excitement, teamwork, encouragement and some fantastic cricket throughout the night.

A huge thank you to everyone who came down to support, helped behind the scenes, scored, coached and encouraged the girls. Nights like this don’t happen without volunteers giving up their time.

Special thanks as well to Ian Cairns for his support with helping get this all up and running, and to the Walton-le-Dale girls for such a lovely game played in a great spirit.

It was also great to have both our current and former Ladies captains there supporting the girls too 💚

It genuinely feels like the start of something really special for girls cricket at Longridge ✨

Such a beautiful night in the sunshine and such a great energy at girls training last Wednesday!

This group is growing every week, and it’s brilliant to see so many girls getting involved 👏
Thanks to some of the older girls for helping out with training too!

If your daughter wants to give cricket a go, just drop us a message, everyone is welcome 😊

We then rolled straight into academy training with our young senior players, continuing to build that pathway through the club 💪

Same again tomorrow... and we wouldn’t want it any other way 🙌
