SHE ONLY BLUMIN' WON!
Today, our incredible Women's Captain, Amy Hindle, was presented with the Lancashire Cricket Collective Raising the Game Award at Old Trafford... and we honestly couldn't be prouder!
Anyone who knows Amy will know this recognition is so richly deserved.
As one of the few adults in a team made up predominantly of teenage girls, Amy is so much more than a captain. She's our coach, mentor, organiser, taxi driver, biggest cheerleader, emotional support and friend. She gives up countless hours to make sure every player feels valued, supported and has the opportunity to enjoy cricket.
Her commitment doesn't stop with the women's team. Amy volunteers with our Cricket Cubs programme, supports our younger girls whenever she can and is often found on the boundary cheering on our girls playing mixed cricket. She quietly goes above and beyond, never asking for recognition, simply doing it because she genuinely cares.
The Raising the Game Award recognises people who make a real difference to cricket, and Amy does exactly that every single week. She isn't just helping players become better cricketers; she's helping them grow in confidence, build friendships and discover a lifelong love of the game.
Seeing Amy receive her award on the outfield at Old Trafford, before a day watching Lancashire Cricket, was a special moment and one that everyone at Longridge Cricket Club is incredibly proud of.
Amy, thank you for everything you do for our club, our players and the future of women's and girls' cricket.
