Here's some excellent advice on what you should prioritising for good nutrition, especially if fat loss is your goal.
[COACHING TIP OF THE WEEK]
HAVE A HIERARCHY OF NUTRITIONAL IMPORTANCE.
"Often, I see trainers and coaches who suggest clients make changes to their intake seemingly at random, or based on the latest exciting development in the industry.
Instead, I challenge you to have something better -- a hierarchy of nutritional importance.
This hierarchy will allow you to have a better idea of what strategies, skills, or habits will best help your client, *right now*.
Of course, you'll be coming up with these skills and habits, or strategies and tactics, collaboratively. This is essential to client-centered coaching.
But when you make suggestions, they must be grounded in evidence. And there should be a true purpose as to why that suggestion, and why at this moment.
**
Having said that, there are lots of elements at play with each particular client. Where you might suggest they start will ultimately depend on that particular client, their circumstances, goals, needs, etc.
However, it should still be based on some kind of framework. And having a hierarchy like this will make your coaching practice much more systematic, and much simpler."
