Evening all, long time!

5 years ago, I planted some Cricket Bat Willow sticks - Tods, they're known as. From Tods come willow shoots. The shoots get cut, planted out and grow into trees. Here's how far they've got, hopefully later this year I'll finally plant the first one. 🌳🏏😁

Sometimes, one is reminded that however great the investment of effort and time, s**t still happens. It's been that sort of year tbh. A homemade bat is something to love and treasure, but in the end it's just a bit of old, dry wood that you use to smash a hard ball over mid-off, as often as possible.
So, there's no point crying over spilled milk right? The only way to get past this is to get another bit of old, dry wood, get back in the workshop and make a new bat. Let's consider this to be today's metaphor for life. 👊
