That’s nearly a wrap on our YEL U10’s season, first stop was a trip to the Royal Concert Hall in Nottingham on Saturday with the Invaders family to collect our Spring League Champions trophy!!.💪

Our Invaders Presentation this weekend will then conclude our very successful U10’s season!.👌

We did it!!.

YEL SAT SPRING LEAGUE CHAMPIONS!!… 🏆 💪🔵⚫️

The Invaders were incredible yesterday!. They all knew the task, stuck to the plan and the Invaders delivered on the pitch!. 👏

They dominated the first half, getting into a lead early on and adding to it as the game went on. The opposition did mount a comeback in the second half but the Invaders ran out worthy winners in the tie.

The game finished with a 4-3 win for the Long Eaton United Invaders to finish off the Spring League campaign!.

The whole team have worked so hard since Christmas, putting in the effort & graft in at training, carrying it though to matchday’s and delivering in every game of this Spring League campaign!. 👏

We are so proud of all of the Invaders!, a team of absolute legends who never give up!!..💪

Captain for the game was Coen McGugan, top work in training during the week and earned the armband to lead the Invaders out for our last Spring League game. Well done Coen!!. 👏

PotM was a very tough one to choose but Miller Carter just edged it, outstanding in goal for the Invaders and played through the pain barrier with a wrist injury to help his teammates. What a player!, well done Miller!!.. 🥇 👏

The Parents Player trophy was awarded to Coen McGugan. An outstanding performance, silky skills and dominated in the fixture!.👌 Well done Coen!!. 🏆 👏

Matchday 3.

A great game over at Bilborough College, the YEL Spring League campaign has given us nothing but battles so far!!..

It started a very close contest, the Invaders working hard from the outset on the very bobbly pitch.

The Invaders managed to capitalise on the chances we were creating, Ollie TS putting away a chance to get a foothold early in the game.

The opposition did pull a goal back but then the Invaders managed to get our noses in front for a second time with a powerful finish into the roof of the net by Rhys from a corner.

Again our opposition never gave up!, getting it level again midway though the second half.

Another draw was on the cards, though both teams had chances to sn**ch it. The Invaders worked the ball up the pitch and the chance came, Ollie TS slotting it low and wide of the GK with a cool left foot shot!. The Invaders managed to then see out the game until the final whistle.

The game finished with a win for the Long Eaton United Invaders.

PotM was Ollie Tunaley-Sewell, worked really hard for the team, never gave up chasing to make things happen. Needed a confidence booster and got his reward with two well taken goals. Well done Ollie!!.. 🥇 👏

The Parents player award went to Coen McGugan, a battle of a performance from Coen, he took a heavy knock on his shin but carried on and gave everything for the Invaders. Well done Coen!!. 🏆 👊

A great win for the Invaders, they won their battles all over the pitch and the victory was well deserved in the end.

Matchday 2.

The Invaders got off to a great start considering the condition of the grass, some of the football on show was excellent even on the bobbly pitch!. A big well done to the Invaders for just getting stuck in, making a game of it and doing their best.💪 👏

In the second half, the opposition did change their tactics, more direct with long balls and pressing a little bit more. It paid off for them but not for us!!.

A frustrating one to say the least!. One of the most one-sided draws you will see!. The Invaders did have some really good chances to put the tie to bed but it just didn’t happen… That’s football!.

Well done Invaders!..👌

Matchday 1.

A great game on Saturday down at Grange Park against a very good AJ Sport Red team, it turned into a battle of a season opener!.

It took the Invaders a good while to get into a rhythm, AJ pressing early and applying the pressure.

The Invaders grew into the game but AJ pounced and got their noses in front going into half time.

In the second half, the Invaders moved the ball around better and were creating more chances. A quick corner and cheeky back heal goal from Esmè Buchanan got us level!. Rhys Halford then pounced with a thunderbolt into the top corner to get the Invaders in front 2-1!.

It was end to end in the last 10 mins, the Invaders coming close one minute… then AJ broke away the next minute to level the game at 2-2.

Both teams tried to find a winner but the game finished all square and points shared.

A hard fought point on the sticky pitch to kick off our Spring League campaign!!. 👏

PotM was Esmè Buchanan, she didn’t stop running for the Invaders and showed some great footwork in the muddy conditions. Topped it off with the cheeky back heal goal!..👌 Well deserved Esmè!!. 🥇 👏

The Parents Player award went to Miller Carter, he made some class saves today to keep us in the game when we were under pressure. Well done Miller!!.. 🏆 👏

We took delivery of our new bazooka aluminium mini goals earlier in the week so Steve Godfrey came down to present the Invaders with our new kit!. 🥅
