The 2026 Leicester Balloon Festival may be over, but there are still plenty of exciting events to come throughout the summer season.

Would you like your brand or company to make a real impact at an event this year?

We currently have capacity to partner with a company at the 2026 Northampton Balloon Festival using G-CIUB, our Cameron Z-90 hot air balloon.

The balloon can be fitted with one or two fully customisable banners, creating a striking and highly visible platform for your brand.

With tens of thousands of visitors attending over the festival weekend, this is a unique opportunity to engage with potential customers in a memorable and exciting way.

We offer a range of sponsorship packages designed to maximise your brand’s visibility and help you stand out from the crowd.

For more information, please send us a message or email [email protected].

If you know of, or work for, a company that may benefit from this opportunity, please tag them in the comments or share this post.

We managed to fly this morning from the Leicester Balloon Festival. The conditions were a lot quicker than forecast but managed a lovely landing at St Martins Catholic School at St Golding.

Many thanks to the site manager for coming get up early on a Sunday morning to let us in!

Off for breakfast and then on to make the most out of the day.

We have had a really busy couple of days at the Leicester Balloon Festival so far!

On Friday we spent the afternoon doing basket demonstrations and having members of the public in for photos. This was really well received and we had queues for most of the afternoon. In the evening the team did a basket glow as sadly the winds were just too high for anything else.

Today has been the total opposite! Light winds all afternoon meant we have inflated or helped inflated four balloons!

We inflated G-SMIG for Cameron Tovey, which with a bit of work could be made airworthy again. This is a really rare balloon and was great to get up.

Next we leant our basket to JD to tether his Emoji balloon which was awesome to see.

Then we inflated the British Balloon Museum and Library Maxwell House Jar for a decent amount of time whilst our team handed out card promoting the museum to the crowds.

Lastly we finished the day by tethering G-TIMX for several hours and into the glow as sadly the winds were too light to fly! The launch site is in the centre of Leicester so it wouldn’t have been safe.

We made the most out of the time though and several student pilots were able to get experience with tethering. Plus we were able to take up crew and other helpers to see the site from a different perspective from a high tether.

Now for some sleep and the morning is looking flyable!

We were up at the crack of dawn this morning to take advantage of the early inversion. A lovely forty minutes from Delapré Abbey landing at Mears Ashby Cricket Club.

The upper winds were very brisk but the inversion held out nicely as per the forecast.

On to Leicester for the weekend next! There does look to be some flyable weather across the weekend too!

Our evening flight was a great success! We took off at 2035 after the winds had begun to drop down and landed at 2140 in Wicksteed Park. Although to be fair we spent the last nearly fifteen minutes floating around the park at two knots!

Liam did really well throughout with a number of good approaches and other exercises.

Now for some sleep before the morning and the start of a busy weekend!

The last photos were taken by Clive Wears who snapped us landing at Wicksteed, the photos are amazing but it genuinely wasn’t that dark when we landed!

We have a jam packed weekend of ballooning planned, starting tonight!

Tonight we are planning a training flight from Billing Aquadrome with Liam Menzies. This will hopefully be his last standard one before he goes on to finalise his license!!

Tomorrow morning we are hoping for another flight from Northampton (location undecided) before we head off to the Leicester Balloon Festival for the weekend.

For Leicester we are taking G-TIMX, and G-BVBJ for our friends at the British Balloon Museum and Library.

We are also going to inflating the very rare San Miguel balloon for our friend Cameron Tovey as well as offering some training for his newly formed balloon team.

Overall that’s four different balloons across the weekend, please tag us if you spot us and please come and say hello if you see us!

Tonight we helped Howard Cusden test fly his new balloon!

G-BRAP is a one of kind home build balloon. Built to the design specifications of former London based balloon manufacturer Thermal Aircraft.

The balloon was built in 2018 by John Yarrow from Easyballoons in Wendover. It is an active 77 with a stunning mix of colours across the balloon.

G-BRAP flew perfectly tonight and we put it through its paces. Northampton now has a new balloon which will be gracing its skies in the coming weeks and months.

Well done to Howard and family for the purchase. Thank you so much for letting us be a part of the first flight!

G-BRAP will hopefully be flying next weekend at the Leicester Balloon Festival.

We are up and away test flying Howard Cusden’s new balloon. This one is a real rarity, it’s one of a kind and has only ever been out of the bag once before. Big reveal to come later when Howard has posted his photos!

We’ve had an absolutely fantastic day today at the University of Northampton STEAM event.

Whilst the weather didn’t allow us to tether our balloon. It meant we could do a full day of interactions inside.

We set up stations covering the different aspects that make the balloon work. This was really well received and we think we had well over a thousand children in and around the balloon over the course of the day.

Helen Goldring and Liam Goldring also debuted their amazing model balloon, built by them and Hannah Goldring. We had permission to fly it in the University atrium and it was a show stealer to say the least.

An amazing day, and we have been invited back for the 2027 Steam event. We will absolutely be coming back again.

Special thanks to Roxanne Milligan from the Uni team for all of the help today!
