City of Derry Golf Club has just launched it's 2026 Get into Golf Program in conjunction with Golf Ireland.

Venue: City of Derry Golf Club
Start date and times : Wednesday evenings 6.30-7.30pm beginning 15th April
Total cost (8 weeks) : £70

What’s can you expect with our Get into golf program?

• 8 week beginner programme including lessons with PGA Professional Sam Smallwoods and Assistant Professional Gavin Simpson and on course activities with lady members of City of Derry Golf Club.
• Equipment provided.
• Refreshments after each session.
• Free use of our Academy facilities during the program.
• Membership offer for those ladies who complete the course.

Frost Delay

Unfortunately, the course is currently closed due to a hard frost — and I’m sure the question on everybody’s lips is: when will the course open?

I’ve consulted numerous people including time travellers, a leading weather forecaster and fortune tellers.

Unfortunately, they’ve all come back with the same answer — no idea.

Before you ask yes I have tried the Pro Shop crystal ball.

So it’s a waiting game u fortunately. Updates on the IG app when conditions improve.
