I noticed a pattern in my group this week something I wasn't aware of until the men inside our community shared it..
Three different men shared how long they've been off the booze.
One of them I was aware of we'd spoken about it 1-1 and he'd wanted some help around it.
The other two I had no idea about.
One has been off it for two months, his longest stint ever.
Another is now six weeks in.
There's no rallying cry in our community for anyone to kick this habit.
But for me it really emphasises the influence of a positive environment and how much your environment shapes you.
Some of the men I coach haven't drank in years, long before we started working together.
Some still enjoy a drink.
Some have stopped since we began.
The point is this.
The men in business I coach all want to perform better, feel more fulfilled, have better energy, and show up differently in their lives and businesses.
There are so many hacks you can add in to increase wellbeing and performance..
. but I don't think there is anything as powerful as subtraction.
Not addition.
Most men I work with are in their late 30s into their 50s.
Testosterone naturally starts to decline at this stage.
Add in weekends of booze which promotes oestrogen, the predominant female hormone and watch your testosterone tank.
In business, think loss of drive, ambition, motivation.
In life loss of healthy s*x drive, connection with your partner, youthfulness and so much more.
You make it harder to lose fat and gain muscle, while at the same time wrecking your sleep and recovery with every drink.
Take all your latest biohacks.
Add them all up.
I'd argue none would have the same impact as removing consistent weekly boozing from your life.
I can say this with confidence as I have done most of them for years.
So when I saw the guys share it in their wins in our private community this week something we do every week, and heard the benefits they'd experienced, I was genuinely surprised.
And genuinely pleased.
My immediate thought was I love it.
Keep going.
It gets easier and it gets better with time.
Performance enhancement in any shape or form is not always about addition.
It is about subtraction.
One client said: "I feel so good I'm doubting I'll ever touch it again."
I told him don't put that pressure on yourself.
I've been there before and then drank again.
For now, just stay present, stay focused on your business, and hold the mindset of I'm giving it a break.
That's enough.
I have shared some of my own experiences since quitting almost 4 years ago here.

I get a lot of private messages from men on this one topic.
If this resonates don’t be afraid to drop me a DM.
