🏌🏼‍♂️JUNIOR GOLF LESSONS 🏌🏼‍♀️

⛳️Registration is now open for our 12 - 17 year old junior beginners and improvers sessions.

⛳️The sessions will start on Thursday 25th July and run for 5 weeks.

⛳️Sessions will be one hour in length and start at 2pm.

⛳️All equipment will be provided.

🌟JUNIOR GOLF LESSONS 🌟

⛳️Registration is now open for our junior golf classes.

⛳️The classes are open to boys and girls between 7 - 11 years of age and will be held on Saturday mornings from 11-12am starting 13th July, for 5 weeks.

⛳️The cost is £50 per child (family discount for 2 children from same household £40pp)

🌟 SNAGSTERS GOLF IS BACK!!!🌟

⛳️Our popular SNAGSTER’S program returns on Saturday 13th July and will consist of 5 x 50 minute sessions each Saturday from 10am.

⛳️SNAG stands for - Starting New At Golf

⛳️This is my program for 4 to 7 year olds who are new to golf or are at the early stages of their golfing journey.

⛳️It’s a fun way to learn and play golf.

⛳️Colourful oversized clubs, soft balls and lots of different “sticky” targets, combine with my child friendly teaching methods and learning cues will accelerate skill development, providing early success and fun for all my Snagster groups.

⛳️Each element of my SNAGSTERS program is designed to emulate the real game (putting, chipping, pitching, full swing) while making it easier and more fun which makes it perfect for children looking to start playing golf.

⛳️Each session includes lots of games and challenges, designed to keep each child captivated and fall in love with playing golf.

⛳️Remember children want to play games and have fun with friends, exactly what my SNAGSTER program delivers.

💥JUNIOR GOLF IS BACK WITH A BANG 💥

It is with great enthusiasm and anticipation that we announce the relaunch of our Junior Golf Programme here at the City of Derry Golf Club starting in 2024.

At the heart of our mission is nurturing young talent, instilling a lifelong love for the game, and fostering the values that make golf a sport like no other.

⛳️ JUNIOR FACILITIES

To achieve this we must offer juniors the opportunity to : -
1. Learn
2. Play
3. Compete

Our Junior Academy facilities which will be located on the 1st and 9th holes of the old Dunhugh course and will feature a five-bay, 200-yard practice range, (the hitting bays will be set on a concrete base with high quality mats), providing young golfers with an ideal environment to learn, practice and improve their skills.

Additionally, we will have a four-hole short course, holes will vary in length between 60 and 100 yards. These holes will be located within the landing area of the practice area and will be used for scheduled practice and play sessions under the supervision of our PGA Pros and junior volunteers.

Juniors will also be abler to practice their putting on our 9 hole putting green which is already in place. We will be reinstating the old Dunhugh 9th green to serve as a chipping and pitching green, complete with a small bunker. These facilities are designed to help young golfers develop a well-rounded skill set and see them progress to a point where they are ready to play on our main course.

⛳️ Junior Coaching and Competition

Starting in March, a comprehensive coaching programme will be rolled out, offering lessons in both group and one-to-one formats.
More details will follow in due course.
For those juniors interested in competitive play, opportunities will be available to test their skills against the course and other juniors in scheduled competitions.

⛳️ JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP

We will be offering two types of membership at a one year introductory price.
The first is an Academy membership which allows children under the age of 13 to use the practice facilities.
The second membership allows up to 17 year old’s the opportunity to use the practice facilities and playing rights on our 18 hole course.

As we head towards 2024 we have some really exciting news regarding junior golf at the club next season.

We aren’t ready to release all the details just yet, but what I can say is we are investing in the facilities to give children the opportunity to learn, practice, play and compete.
