Parli-Hill Kite Flyers I have been flying Kites for 30 years now at Kite Hill. Introduced to flying by my x partner who flew Power kites. I also teach up to 4 liners.

I started with single line kites, then Deltas, power kites , aircraft and now Paragliders.

I use a proper calibrated airport windsock I purchased from a Pilot's Shop. It tells me wind speed, direction and behaviour. The same way one would make visual reference when coming into land

I flew the delta kites all day till nightfall, string firm winds from the east. My windsock disappeared into the night.... so I switched on its internal light...bright Orange on Parliament Hill, just like a Mini airfield .
I then toom my white LED lights from my bike and attached it to the kite. Perfect. It worked. It wasn't heavy and was flashing like a little Cessna aircraft flying at night...more like a UFO to passers by.
I joked to one of my Friends, I now have a Night rating to my Kite Flying Licence...lol!
