βš½οΈπŸ† TOURNAMENT DAY PART 3 πŸ†βš½οΈ

With the burgers and chips flying out, and BBQ master Ash's signature cheesy chips proving a huge hit, it was time for the knockout stages! πŸ”πŸ§€πŸ”₯

Eight teams had battled their way through to the quarter-finals, and what a talented group they were.

With the rain still refusing to let up and the lunch interval coming to an end, the football resumed.

The standard throughout the quarter-finals was incredibly high, with every match tightly contested.

For the neutral spectator, it was a fantastic round of football. The pace was relentless, the movement was sharp and precise, and you would never have guessed the players had already been battling it out all morning. βš½οΈπŸ‘

Unfortunately, for four teams their tournament journey came to an end, while four progressed to what promised to be a pair of exciting semi-finals.

A special mention goes to our semi-finalists:
πŸ† Saints (2)
πŸ† Beechwood VI
πŸ† Hawkenbury Argyle
πŸ† TSE

All four teams had impressed throughout the group stages and quarter-finals, and everyone was eager to see what the semi-finals would bring.

The first semi-final saw Saints (2) take on Beechwood VI.

It was an incredibly close affair, with both sides refusing to give an inch. Neither team could find a winner during normal time, meaning penalties would decide who reached the final.

The shootout went right down to the wire, eventually ending in sudden death before Beechwood VI edged through to become the first-ever SummerSeries finalists. πŸ‘βš½οΈ

The second semi-final saw TSE face Hawkenbury Argyle.

Both teams entered the match full of confidence and produced a fast-paced, high-quality contest. Chances came at both ends, but TSE managed to edge the game 2-1 and secure the second spot in the final. πŸ”₯

The final was set.
πŸ”΅ TSE vs πŸ”΄ Beechwood VI

With the rain still falling and over eight hours of football already played, the finalists somehow found the energy for one final battle.

An extra five minutes had been added to the final, making it a 20-minute showdown to crown the first-ever SummerSeries champions. πŸ†

The whistle blew and the final was underway.

TSE struck first to take an early 1-0 lead, but Beechwood VI responded brilliantly with a well-worked equaliser.

With the game finely balanced and heading towards its closing stages, TSE found a decisive second goal from a corner. Unfortunately for Beechwood VI, there wasn't enough time remaining to mount another comeback.

The final whistle blew.

πŸ† TSE WERE CROWNED THE INAUGURAL SUMMERSERIES CHAMPIONS 2026! πŸ†

Congratulations to TSE and a huge well done to Beechwood VI, who pushed them all the way in a fantastic final.

A massive thank you goes to every player, every team, every volunteer and every spectator who attended.

The support, encouragement, football banter and positive atmosphere throughout the day made the event truly special. ❀️⚽️

Following the presentations and the clean-up operation, our team and incredible volunteers headed back to The Moat, one of our valued sponsors, for a well-earned hot meal and drink after a very long but rewarding day. 🍽️🍻

Before we finish, we'd also like to give a special mention to The Foresters Arms in Tonbridge, another fantastic sponsor of SummerSeries. If you're ever in the area and feeling peckish, pop in, say hello to Tyson and treat yourself to one of their incredible pizzas and a pint. πŸ•πŸΊ

Finally, a huge thank you to everyone who supported our inaugural SummerSeries Charity Tournament. We couldn't have done it without you all.

πŸ“Έ All pictures below are from throughout the day. Apologies if we've missed anyone out!

❀️⚽️ Until next time...

βš½οΈπŸ† TOURNAMENT DAY PART 2 πŸ†βš½οΈ

With the heavy showers coming in spells throughout the day, and at times absolutely pouring down, our amazing team of volunteers once again stepped up and helped keep everything running smoothly. 🌧️πŸ’ͺ

With the BBQ fired up, refreshment stalls in place, the main fixture tent fully operational and volunteers stationed across the site, we were finally ready to get the tournament underway. πŸ”₯πŸ”β˜•οΈ

10:00am arrived and every team was present, warmed up and ready for action.

THREE GROUPS, EIGHTEEN TEAMS, FIVE GROUP GAMES EACH, FIFTEEN MINUTE GAMES

Plenty of football to get through before the knockout stages! βš½οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

A massive thank you must go to all three referees, who did a fantastic job throughout the day. Their professionalism helped keep the games flowing, ensured fair play and maintained a great atmosphere across all pitches. πŸ‘πŸŸ¨βš½οΈ

Our teams came from a variety of different backgrounds, age groups and experiences, and it perfectly embodied what SummerSeries is all about. Bringing communities together through sport was always our vision, and football has an incredible way of doing exactly that. ❀️

The quality of football on display was outstanding. The standard was high, the competition was fierce and every game felt like it mattered. Despite the weather, there was plenty of laughter, plenty of smiles and an incredible energy around the venue all day long. πŸ™ŒπŸ”₯

This brings us to a special mention for the main man in the fixture tent, Dave. πŸ‘πŸ“‹

His meticulous record keeping, organisation of results and constant communication with players and staff ensured the tournament ran effortlessly from start to finish. Everything was updated quickly and accurately, helping the day flow without any major hiccups... apart from the never-ending ball retrieval missions! πŸ˜‚βš½οΈ

As the group stages drew to a close, the competition couldn't have been any tighter.

Going into the final round of matches, only one team out of the eight had secured qualification. The remaining seven teams all had something to play for and were battling it out for the final knockout spots.

That alone shows just how competitive and evenly matched this tournament was. πŸ‘πŸ†

With the weather showing no signs of improving, the brilliant Harlequins Theatre School performance was brought forward and moved pitchside so spectators could still enjoy the show.

The girls put on an incredible performance despite the difficult conditions and received a huge round of applause from everyone watching. Their enthusiasm, confidence and professionalism made it a truly special part of the day. πŸŒŸπŸŽπŸ‘

Back to the football...

With the group stages now complete and final positions confirmed, teams were able to take a well-earned break. Those progressing to the knockout stages could gather their thoughts and prepare for the next challenge, while those whose tournament journey had come to an end were able to dry off, relax and enjoy a burger from our BBQ master Ash. πŸ”πŸ”₯

A huge thank you to Ash, who did a brilliant job on the grill throughout the day. If only the weather had been a little kinder! πŸ˜‚πŸ‘

Below are some photos of the fantastic teams that entered, some action shots from the matches and a few pictures of our amazing volunteers who worked tirelessly throughout the day.

(Sorry if we missed anyone! ❀️)

The knockout stages had arrived, and with them the quality and intensity of the football stepped up another level... πŸ‘€πŸ”₯⚽️

A huge thank you to Jamie O'Hara for generously offering our SummerSeries Charity Tournament winners an amazing opportunity! πŸ™ŒπŸ”₯

βš½οΈπŸ† TOURNAMENT DAY PART 1 πŸ†βš½οΈ

Saturday 6th June saw our inaugural SummerSeries x Hospice in the Weald Adult Tournament… and WHAT A DAY IT WAS! πŸ™ŒπŸ”₯

We had a bit of everything throughout the day, with the weather conditions seriously hampering our preparation plans, our team and incredible group of volunteers refused to let it dampen our spirits. πŸ’ͺ🌧️

Thanks to a late-night setup the evening before and a brilliantly organised volunteer team, the morning, although very busy and rushed, went far more smoothly than we could have hoped.

A huge thank you also goes to JCB Group , one of our amazing sponsors, who arrived early to set up the viewing vehicles ready for the arrival of players and spectators. πŸš™πŸ‘

Lauren from Beauty School Dropouts UK was also set up alongside JCB with her fantastic Beauty Bus, thanks to the generosity of Callum Thompson from Fraise Building Services - Building Tomorrow , all face-painting tickets had already been paid for, meaning families could enjoy the activity completely free of charge
🎨😊.

We were also delighted to welcome Alice's ices to the event. πŸ¦β˜€οΈ Despite the rain dominating much of the day, a few welcome glimpses of sunshine managed to break through the clouds, giving spectators and players the perfect excuse to enjoy a well-earned ice cream while taking in the action.

By the time the gates opened, everything was in place and ready for a brilliant day ahead.

All teams arrived on time, ready, eager and raring to go. Even with the downpour, the spirit, positivity and community feel shown by the players, spectators and staff kept the event entertaining from start to finish, the atmosphere throughout the day was absolutely fantastic. ❀️⚽️

So who opened our tournament?.....

None other than Jamie O'hara πŸ‘πŸŽ™οΈβš½οΈ

Without needing much convincing, Jamie's charitable nature shone through. He kindly agreed to open the tournament, deliver a speech and spend time taking photos with players and supporters who attended.

We were also fortunate enough for the founders of SummerSeries to grab a photo with Jamie on what was a very special day for everyone involved. πŸ“Έ

It was a real pleasure to have him open our tournament, and we'd personally like to thank him for literally hopping off a plane from his holiday and coming straight to support our event.

That level of commitment and generosity doesn't go unnoticed. πŸ™

Jamie also kindly presented the tournament winners with an incredible prize, a trip to talkSPORT Towers to meet both Jamie O'Hara and Jason Cundy, along with the opportunity to sit in and watch the Sports Bar Podcast. πŸŽ™οΈπŸ†

Jamie, thank you for your kindness, your time and, most importantly, for supporting such a fantastic cause. ❀️

Part 2 coming soon... πŸ‘€βš½οΈπŸ”₯
