But what does that look like in Saudi Riyal? 🇸🇦

£60million = SAR 299.9m

(At a GBP / SAR rate of 4.9991)

While the headline fee is agreed in pounds, the amount Al Hilal ultimately pays in Saudi Riyal is influenced by the GBP / SAR exchange rate at the point the funds are exchanged.

If Al Hilal wanted to remove that uncertainty, they could have locked in Friday's GBP / SAR rate using a forward contract, securing the full SAR 299.9m in advance and protecting themselves against any exchange rate movement before the transfer is completed.
