Local support is needed to stop development on Grove Farm Site of Importance for Nature Conservation (SINC), Ealing, UK
Grove Farm is a Local Nature Reserve and Site of Importance for Nature Conservation (SINC) in North Greenford, Ealing. We call on decision‑makers to deny the development Park View Place that would damage this protected wildlife habitat and public green space.
The proposal is made up of seven tower blocks ranging from six to sixteen stories in height. Four towers of 11 to 16 stories will directly affect Grove Farm Nature Reserve, three will be partially built on Grove Farm’s SINC, together these four towers will:
* cause the loss of 0.27 ha of broadleaf woodland - a priority habitat that should be protected,
* harm Coston’s Brook through the construction of concrete retaining walls,
* destroy one badger sett and force the temporary closure of a second,
* harm bats by introducing light pollution, reducing food sources, potential roosts and disturbing a commuting corridor connecting them to the wider landscape,
* permanently overshadowing a section of the SINC reducing biodiversity
