Match Report for Mixed doubles 27/11/22 🏸

A narrow Loss of 5-4 to with some very close games! Well done to Younous and Nila for winning a tough first game, and excellently played by Mai and Reuben who made their debut. Well done to Arin and Smrithi for winning all their games!

Match day report - 23/10/22🏸

A good 7-2 win in mixed doubles against Kings College 2nd Team! 🎉Congrats to Younous and Smrithi for winning all their games! A very close loss for Reuben and Diki likewise for Arin and Nila. These two losses were narrowly taken in the third set. A few games were forfeited due to a rolled ankle from KCL to which we wish a speedy recovery. Thank god for the dentists on standby who specialise in this area. 🦷🪥

Men's 1st 3-5 Portsmouth 1st
Women's 6-2 UCL 2nd(RUMS).
Well done to everyone that played yesterday, men's 1st had their first game in the new division and almost took the first game! Very good performances from our debut players: Mohit, Reuben and Dom and special shout out to Dom and Reuben for winning their first game of the season. Also great performances from Arif, Younous and Arin with tough games.

Amazing result from the Women's 1st in their first game yesterday. Great debut performance from Smrithi, Deepsee and Mai. Nila, Jasmine and Jhalak back with their A game this season. A special shout out to Smrithi, Deepsee and Jhalak and Nila for winning all their games yesterday! Well done to the team, hopefully more wins on the way.

Hi everyone! With the upcoming welcome fair, our badminton team would like to tell you that you can find us in the Qmotion sports hall of the Mile End campus on 22nd September between 10am-6pm and 23rd September between 10am-4pm where you can ask us anything about badminton and also be able to sign up to our casual sessions and trials for the team. See you then!! 😄

For people joining Queen Mary this upcoming September, the QM badminton club welcomes all of you, whether you would like to play badminton competitively or just want to pick a new sport. QM Badminton pleased to announce that our annual Confucius Tournament is finally back after 3 years, sponsored QMUL’s very own Confucius Institute! The tournament is open to students and staff from any university and will take place at Qmotion (15 Godward Square, London, E1 4FZ) on Wednesday 20th April from 10am to 4pm, consisting of men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles categories (final format to be determined once entry numbers have been confirmed). This year’s prizes include trophies, Chinese paper fans, and £10 Amazon vouchers for the winners of each category, as well as £5 Amazon vouchers for the runners-up, so plenty to play for! If you are interested then please register using the form below (also in our bio) by Friday 15th April, entry is free and if you are unable to find a partner for a category you can still enter and we will do our best to assign you with a partner. We look forward to seeing you there!

Merger Cup Result: QM 5-4 Barts

Congrats to everyone involved in our first Merger Cup in 3 years! The fixture saw players from QM and Barts Badminton face off against each other in singles, doubles and mixed, with the overall result going in favour of QM after some very tightly contested matches! Well done to all involved, and thank you for the great games! 👏

Amazing play from our men’s second team against Essex, only *just* missing out on a draw, with a final score of 3-5! :(

Really well played to Alfred and Matthew for winning both their matches in some really close games, gaining redemption and winning against the only pair they’ve ever lost to this year! Arin was up against both singles players (not at the same time lol) and managed to secure one win for us too. Special creds to Alex for playing some great shots, and some close games for myself and Gian, with a score 25-23 in one of our games😂😂.

Great stuff this season guys, hope to see you all next year! ❤️

The Womens 1st team played an amazing match against some incredibly strong opponents today from Sussex Womens 1 in the conference cup finals! We lost 0-8 but came second in the conference cup for the Southern Eastern Tier, making history for the QM women’s team! 🎉
Congratulations to the girls for playing so well and fighting hard you’ve all done amazing. And to everyone who’s been a part of the conference cup this year thank you all so much and great job, we wouldn’t be here without you guys!!!

It will be the last year some of us get to play in a cup tournament so a big thank you to all for helping us make such an amazing memory ❤️
