I’m Lisa, owner of LATfitness. I live in Ealing and am a level 3 Personal Trainer, keen gym goer, wife to (also Scottish!) hubby Nick and mum to 2 little ones, Annabelle (10) and Ben(7). I’ve lived in Ealing for 8 years and going backwards prior to that Canada, Wandsworth (SW London) and Edinburgh! As a qualified nurse, I really loved my job but post kids the commute and hours were just not going
to work for me. I wanted to be around for my little ones (if I could) so therefore decided to change one of my passions and interests into my job and retrained as a PT! Now I am able to incorporate my exercise with inspiring and helping others to improve their health and fitness. Life is busy but I’ve realized how important some time for ‘me’ is in it all…..’you cant pour from an empty cup’ as I like to say but so many mums try to! I definitely feel able to give more when im feeling good about myself. I only train 3 times a week but its enough to keep me ticking over and I just have to use my time wisely! Its mostly in the gym doing a variety of classes and resistance training but I also enjoy running around one of our many parks, tennis and yoga. I’ve always exercised but not always enjoyed it!..... Getting back in shape after having my babies was hard! (both times around!) and it’s hard now in this perimenopause phase I find myself in. Hard work, hard to find the time, hard to find the energy, hard to justify the gym or online package costs and a mental logistical jigsaw puzzle juggling childcare, work, and all the other things life throws at you! It always makes me feel better afterwards though - that is one consistent thing! I know what its like to try and juggle it all which is why I am really flexible on time and location.
