Dear All,
We are sorry to announce that Running-A-Mock will be taking an indefinite hiatus effective immediately.
This was not an easy decision. We are just as sad about this as the rest of you, if not more so as we had so many plans for the next year and have had to suddenly cancel them. This is not curtains closed, so do watch this space for further updates in the near future.
We are aware many of you have not had the chance yet to attend one of our workshops, and we are deeply sorry that we never got to share our love of comedy with you. We would therefore like to highlight other tried-and-tested opportunities in London should you be still be keen on comedy:
The Free Association (https://thefreeassociation.co.uk)
Many RAM alumni have taken their careers here and flourished, with many of them having also worked here. They offer classes in improv, sketch, and comedy writing. They also have diversity scholarships and open workshops to meet like-minded individuals, which are free.
Hoopla (https://www.hooplaimpro.com/improv-comedy-club-london-bridge.html)
London's first improv comedy club. Here you can catch shows from professional improv troupes. They also allow amateurs to book to perform for a very reasonable price. Additionally, they offer courses in improv.
Stand-up Club (https://thestandupclub.co.uk)
With many venues across London (including London Bridge) there is no shortage of evening shows featuring the very best of stand-up comedy. The tickets are very reasonably priced, but some nights are naturally more expensive. They do not have amateur nights, but if you are very experienced you can try to book a spot. However, a lot of pubs and bars in London organise stand-up evenings for amateurs, so if you're keen do just ask around in your local area.
Thank you all very much for your interest in Running-A-Mock. We wish each and every one of you the best in your degrees, your time at King's, and the happiest life. Always have fun, tell jokes (especially the crappy ones), and keep laughing!
Best Wishes & Kind Regards,
Sarah & Ben
