Tide PRO-AM FAQ.

We've had some questions around our new "PRO-AM" events, so wanted to give a few answers and field more questions in the comments.

We're really excited about these events. Alongside an incredible prize, we'll get to meet many winners on the day and witness some top level match angling too.

Here are some of the questions we've had, and our answers:

Q. Do I have to beat the Pros to win the prize?
A. You will be paired with one of the 'Pros' - fishing off the same peg for a combined bag converted from length. Each drawn winner is paired with a pro, and that winning pair claims the prize between them, £2,500 cash each.

Q. What if I don't catch but my pair does?
A. The bag is combined. It's entirely possible to win with only your pair catching, and even without claiming the top prize, you will inevitably gain a great deal of experienced fishing alongside these established top level match anglers.

Q. Do I need to have match fished before?
A. No - but we do ask that you consider yourself fit to fish the venue it is being hosted on, e.g. Aberavon beach for this first one.

Q. Can I enter if I am an experienced match angler?
A. Anyone can buy tickets so long as they are not a TTC employee. Winners can also nominate others to fish, so long as the ticket purchaser and person nominated to fish are both over 18.

Q. Will there be a PRO-AM closer to me?
A. It all depends on demand. Our intent is to have as many regional PRO-AMs as possible, but it has to be justified by demand. We'll be looking at ticket sales on these initial events and specifically the location of those purchasing ahead of considering the next event.

When we asked Tom Bagnall what his favourite piece of sea angling kit is, a bait station definitely wasn’t the answer we were expecting! 😂

But when you think about it, it makes perfect sense. Keeping all your baiting tools in one place is a big plus, but perhaps the biggest benefit is being able to work comfortably at your peg without constantly bending over or wrecking your knees on the rocks.

In fact, since filming this Tide Tactics with Tom, Jansen has bought one himself and reckons it’s saved his back no end!
Sometimes it’s the simplest bits of kit that make the biggest difference. 🎣
