The 5 hip moves I give my golfers before anything else. They look simple — that’s the point.
Anyone can copy the obvious version. Almost nobody does them right. And doing them right is where the 40% average handicap drop across 187 golfers actually comes from.
Comment FIT BUT STIFF and I’ll show you exactly what’s going on 👇
⬇️ For those who want the detail:
1. Wide-leg squat dips — unlock the back, but really they teach load, balance and range most golfers have quietly lost.
2. Standing hip rotation — the back release everyone feels. Done properly it teaches separation: upper body moving independently of the lower. That’s your swing.
3. Deep hip rotation / deep-squat cat-cow — opens the hips as advertised. The real lesson is learning to “zip up” through the core. Most golfers swing from the back, not the core — which is why your back is fried after 18 holes. The power was never in your back.
4. Hip flexor activation — wakes up the lazy hips a day at the desk switches off, and rebuilds range, balance and focus.
5. The one that ties it together — engaging the whole chain, toes to hands, so your body finally moves as one unit.
Copy these and you’ll get the obvious. Learn to do them properly — the zip, the separation, the sequencing — and that’s the part I can’t fit in a reel. It’s what I do with you.
Small steps. Massive change
