It has the power to inspire, and to unite the youth. Sport can create hope where there is only hopelessness. Sports, particularly cricket, has played a vital role in bringing Afghans together. Cricket has not only won the hearts of youth, but made its place in the hearts of all other age groups. In this race, British-Afghans are not behind anyone; their overwhelming thirst and interest has been the source of inspiration. But in absence of a single platform, organizing and coordinating cricket events has never been an easy job, Afghan Cricket Association (ACA) is here to answer that call. ACA will fill that vacuum; comprised of players from every level, ranging from amateur to professional cricketers. There are many UK based Afghans whom we aim to bring together through cricket. Most Afghans are familiar with this game purely because of the rapid rise of the national cricket team on the world stage, which has not only hit the grounds back home, but also here in UK and around the world. To take the same mission ahead, ACA will lift the flag and will lead the caravan. ACA will:
• Fulfil the dreams of the rising young Afghans who have talent but lack a direction, serving as a talent-hunt hub for UK based Afghans.
• Be the centre of gravity for Afghan teams in the UK.
• Bring Afghans from diverse backgrounds together through cricketing events.
• Coordinate with Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) particularly on their tours to the UK.
• Organize cricket tournaments in the UK (hard ball/tennis ball, indoors/out doors).
• Aim to work closely with English counties and cricket bodies to strengthen cricketing relationship between England and Afghanistan.
