🌍 Happy International Women’s Day 🌍

Today we celebrate the strength, resilience and achievements of women around the world. At Aquila Taekwondo we are incredibly proud of the inspiring women and girls who are part of our community — from our youngest beginners to our elite competitors, coaches and volunteers.

Taekwondo is not just about kicks and patterns; it’s about confidence, discipline and believing in your own strength. Every day we see girls pushing their limits, supporting each other and growing into strong, capable individuals both on and off the mats.

To all the women and girls in our club and in our wider community — thank you for the passion, determination and leadership you bring. You inspire the next generation every single day.

🇧🇬 G2 Bulgaria Poomsae Open 🇧🇬

A fantastic experience for our athletes at the recent Bulgaria Poomsae Open, where Georgina, Bianca, Hannah and Orla stepped onto the international stage and competed in very strong, highly competitive divisions.

Every match was incredibly close, with scores often separated by 0.3 or less, showing just how tight the level of competition was throughout the event.

A special congratulations to Georgina and Bianca who secured a 2nd Place Medal in the Team event, with their teammate Coleen from .kma

Important milestone:
Hannah’s first G Ranked event
Orla’s first European G ranked competition

The team performed brilliant against experience international players and gained valuable experience that will only strengthen their performances going forward.

First competition of 2026: Done! ✅💪

This weekend, our Poomsae Team of 34 athletes and Sparring Team of 22 athletes stepped onto the mats for the first time this year at the Ali’s Dojang Championships.

Many of our athletes moved up in age and/or belt categories, embracing tougher divisions and new challenges — a perfect opportunity to test themselves and gain valuable experience for the season ahead.

And they certainly rose to the occasion! On Saturday, the Poomsae Team brought home the 2nd Place Team Trophy and, on Sunday, the Sparring Team achieved the 1st Place Team Trophy! 🏆

Both teams exceeded expectations, showing resilience, growth, and true team spirit.

Thank you for hosting another great event and hiring our mats!

We couldn’t be prouder of their effort and attitude — what an incredible way to kick off 2026! 🔥

A very special weekend is coming up for Aquila… 🥋✨
It’s nearly time for our Black Belt Dan Grading — one of the most important milestones in any taekwondo journey. Months (and in many cases, years) of hard work, persistence, discipline and heart all lead to this moment.

For our students stepping up to test, this is more than just a grading. It’s a marker of growth, resilience, and the commitment they’ve shown day after day. We’re incredibly proud already — now it’s time to show what you can do. 🔥

And after all the kicking, sweating, nerves and celebrations on the mats… we’ll continue the festivities together at our Christmas Celebration later that same day. 🎄✨

A special day from start to finish, and a fantastic way to wrap up another great year of Taekwondo. We can’t wait.

An incredible Sunday at the 3rd LMC Championships 🥋🔥
We took a team of 9 athletes this weekend — and every single one of them made us proud.

Strong performances, brave decisions on the mat, and so much growth from competition to competition. It’s amazing to see the confidence building, the teamwork strengthening, and the level rising across the whole squad.

What an incredible couple of Demo Taekwondo sessions we had last week with our guest instructor Master Yoo! 💥👊

A huge thank you to everyone who took part — the turnout, the energy, and the enthusiasm were far beyond what we expected.

The session introduced students to authentic demo and freestyle training, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

Thank you again to for sharing his expertise, and well done to all the students who pushed themselves and tried something new.

We look forward to bringing more demo/freestyle training to the club!

Our university students showed up big time — and we couldn’t be prouder.

🥋 Dan Grading Success at the British Taekwondo High Dan Grading 🇬🇧

Today was a huge achievement at the National Training Centre in Manchester as Kuzey and Georgina took part in the British Taekwondo High Dan Grading.

We are incredibly proud to share that:

✨ Master Kuzey has successfully achieved his 6th Dan
✨ Master Georgina has successfully achieved her 5th Dan

Both have dedicated years of hard work, discipline, and passion to reach this level—setting an incredible example for all of our students.
