Tideway Scullers School: Alec Hodges Courses The Alec Hodges Courses are week-long intensive courses at Britain's top sculling club. There are usually 20-30 scullers on each course, depending on the tides.

And we don't think any other club can offer as many boats, and expert coaches, as us. Courses are for all abilities and all age groups, and attendees usually number 30-35. The aim is that everyone spends as much time in a single scull as possible, although there is also some crew boat sculling.

Want to learn to scull on the Tideway this summer, when the river is quiet? We have single sculling courses for beginners and improvers, adults and juniors. Dates are:
24th to 28th July
31st July to 4th August
7th to 11th August
21st to 25th August

STOP PRESS: We are running an extra course this summer, 23-27th August. Mornings only, adults and juniors, all abilities. Ideal preparation for the new season. Roll up, roll up! The week will start with a group safety briefing, followed by an introduction to your coach and allotted boat for the week. The following days will begin with a shorter briefing with your coach, and a chance for questions and an opportunity to go over any points from the previous days rowing.
