๐ฅ๐ Elite Karate Club - London โ A TEAM ACHIEVEMENT ๐๐ฅ
OSS Everyone!
Following Sunday's 9th LIONS OPEN, I would like to take a moment to thank and congratulate everyone involved in the continued success of our club.
๐ Elite Karate Club London finished 1st Overall Club on the medal table!
๐ฅ 13 Gold
๐ฅ 14 Silver
๐ฅ 17 Bronze
๐
Total: 44 Medals
This is a fantastic achievement, especially considering the competition included 32 clubs from England, Wales and Algeria.
However, this message is not really about medals.
This achievement did not happen on Sunday.
It started months and years ago in our dojos.
Every medal won on Sunday was built through hundreds of hours of training, dedication, discipline, encouragement and support from instructors, students and parents.
I would like to say a huge THANK YOU to all our instructors who work tirelessly week after week:
๐ฅ Sensei Amir
๐ฅ Sensei Mustak
๐ฅ Sensei Mihai
๐ฅ Senpai Claudia
๐ฅ Senpai Satish
๐ฅ Senpai Juan
๐ฅ Senpai John
The success of our club belongs to all of you.
Many people only see the competition day, but they don't see the countless hours spent teaching basics, correcting techniques, motivating students, helping them through difficult moments, building confidence and preparing them mentally and emotionally.
๐ This 1st Place Trophy belongs to every instructor and every student within our club.
It belongs to those who stood on the podium on Sunday, but also to those who didn't.
It belongs to the students who train week after week, push through challenges, listen, learn and keep improving.
It belongs to every instructor who gives their time, knowledge, energy and passion to help develop our students both as karateka and as people.
Every class taught, every correction made, every word of encouragement and every drop of sweat in the dojo has contributed to this achievement.
This trophy is not the result of one day of competition. It is the result of years of hard work, dedication, teamwork and commitment from everyone involved.
Be proud of what we have achieved together.
I would also like to thank all our parents.
Thank you for bringing your children to training.
Thank you for supporting them.
Thank you for trusting us with their development.
As instructors, we would love to see more children attending competitions.
Competitions are not only about winning medals.
They teach children:
โ
Confidence
โ
Courage
โ
Discipline
โ
Respect
โ
Resilience
โ
How to perform under pressure
โ
How to deal with success and disappointment
Every child who steps onto a tatami is already a winner because they had the courage to try.
However, with competition comes an important lesson for all of us, children, instructors and parents alike:
Sometimes we win.
Sometimes we lose.
Sometimes we learn.
Losses are part of the journey.
No champion has ever won every match.
The athletes who eventually become successful are often those who have learned the most from defeat.
Please support your children regardless of the result.
Celebrate the effort, not only the medal.
After a competition, your child does not need criticism.
They need encouragement.
They need to know that you are proud of them whether they finish 1st, 2nd, 3rd or unplaced.
One competition does not define them.
One medal does not define them.
One defeat certainly does not define them.
What defines them is their willingness to get back up, return to training and keep improving.
At Elite Karate Club London we are proud not only of champions, but of good people.
The real victory is seeing our students become more confident, respectful, disciplined and resilient human beings.
Sunday's results were fantastic, but what makes me even prouder is the spirit, attitude and support shown by our students, parents, instructors and volunteers.
That is what makes our club special.
