Yoga is Sanskrit work meaning ‘unite’ and the unification of mind and the body to be precise.
No exercise routine can be executed successfully without conscious, deliberate and controlled movement. If you ever observe top athletes train- see how well they’re able to control their bodies and as much as they might not all be going to Yoga classes, they connect their mind and bodies daily through their exercise. The flawless movement is a result of it. So before trying to lift heavy weights, swinging kettlebells or even running, be sure that you can control basic movements in slow motion first. Once you’ve built that mind-muscle connection the injuries will be less likely to occur and your training will level up or simply be what it was always supposed to be:-)
I incorporate many elements of yoga practice into training my clients as well as my own practice. In fact I start every single day with a 15-45min of yoga practice first thing in the morning and I encourage you to do the same 🙏 You can find my 15min yoga routines on my YouTube channel
