🌟 June Focus: Locomotor Skills 🌟

This month, our gymnasts are developing one of the most important foundations of movement: locomotor skills! 💫

From rolling and crawling in our tinies classes, to running, climbing, jumping, skipping and more! These skills help build balance, coordination, body awareness, confidence, and independence.

By strengthening locomotor skills at every stage, we’re helping children create a strong foundation for lifelong physical activity, learning and play. 🤸‍♀️✨

This May half term, join us at The Little Gym Hampstead for our Cartwheel Workshops designed for children aged 5–12 years!

⭐ No prior experience needed

Whether your child is learning their very first cartwheel or ready to level up their technique, our workshops will help them build strong foundations, improve confidence, develop strength and coordination, and progress to the next stage of their gymnastics journey 💪🤸

For May, we’re using imagination and colour to bring movement to life 🌈✨

In children’s gymnastics, it’s never just movement. It’s the foundation for future sporting success and lifelong skills.

From ages 0–7, children’s brains are wiring movement faster than at any other stage, building coordination, confidence and awareness with every jump, roll and climb.

For older children, play builds teamwork, resilience and athletic skills like strength, speed and agility.

A huge milestone for our community, over 850 members every week! 🎉

At TLG Hampstead, we’re incredibly proud to now welcome more than 850 gymnasts into our classes each week. What started as a vision to create a positive, supportive space for young people to grow through gymnastics continues to become something truly special.

Every cartwheel, every achievement, every moment of confidence built in the gym is part of this shared success. Thank you to our amazing gymnasts, families, and coaching team for making this community so strong, energetic, and inspiring.

Gymnastics isn’t our end goal, it’s the tool we use to support the whole child. As children climb, balance, hang and roll, they’re building strength, coordination and body awareness that supports everyday skills - like sitting still to concentrate at school, holding a pencil with control, riding a bike etc…

The in gym challenges and activities allow children to try, learn persistence, to focus, and to believe in themselves. Both inside the gym and far beyond it.

We’re not growing Olympians. We’re growing confident, capable children ready for everyday life.
