So how and why did we fly a drone by thought alone?

We partnered with Ultra PCS Ltd and created NIMBUS : Neurological Intelligent Monitoring & Brain Utilisation System.

UltraNIMBUS provides the means to harness signals from the brain and integrate them to a smart communication box. Measuring not only a soldiers state of well-being but providing them with the ability to control a drone by thought alone.

We now know wellbeing is related to performance. And how do we know? Well we measured it!

Take 5 steps to wellbeing – Take notice

Stop, pause and take a moment to be still and look around you. Reduce your time watching the news and browsing social media. Let go of what none of us can control right now and focus on what you can control. Acknowledge your thoughts and feelings and be kind to yourself. It is normal not to feel ‘normal’ during this time. Listen to gentle music or try relaxation apps and videos. Know that this is temporary and things will get better. Take notice of your habits. Avoid smoking or drugs, and try not to drink too much alcohol. It can be easy to fall into unhealthy patterns of behaviour that end up making you feel worse.

So today I was invited to give a talk to pupils at a school in Bromsgrove. Inspiring young minds to effect change today for the future.

What an amazing day. I was honoured to share the day with the police, paramedics, fire service and a charitable trust. Sharing life stories and asking open questions.

I began with an opening question about ‘unconscious bias’. You will hear from my short video below that they simply knocked it out of the park. I have faith in our future as this generation knew the answer. When I share this with Generation X it is always the same answer and it is clear that gender bias is engrained. I regularly get “OMG ....why did I not know that? That’s terrible and so wrong!”. When I share it with Millenials we open the door to a little less bias and a more inclusive response which is also wrong. And then today I shared the same statement with three Year 7 groups of boys and girls (age 11 and 12) and they knew the answer!

They then discovered neuroscience, cognitive overload, good and bad communication and why changing your brain waves can change your life.
