This month we’re challenging you to get a heel stretch 🤸

Below are the stretches that we’re asking you to do daily for the next 30 days 📅

Not a flyer? No worries!

Coach Leila set some stretches for us to do 🧘‍♀️ (scroll to the second photo!)

1 - Cat Pose
2 - Cobra
3 - Standing Pike
4 - Deep Squat
5 - Pigeon
6 - Runners Lunge
7 - Runners Lunge (elbows to the ground)
8 - Left/Right Leg Split Hold
9 - Middle Split Hold

Try to hold each movement for 1 minute (60 seconds) ⏰

We’ll be checking-in in two weeks to see how you’re doing and we’ll showcase the results on February 4th 🤸

We’ve been doing a lot of reflecting over the last few days and we’re in awe of how well you’ve all done at embracing the challenges that have come our way💪.

This year has been tough to say the least.

But what 2020 has shown us is that we’re not easily conquered.

With the unexpected announcement yesterday we want to reassure you that we’re here for you, our family, to be with you virtually and to make sure that you don’t feel alone.

We know that you may be focusing on the heartache and the pain of the news but we want to encourage you to look at what you do have.

❤️ You have a family
❤️ A warm home
❤️ People that love you

And mostly

❤️You have HOPE

There are things that we can’t control and things that matter — focus on the in between.

The things that you CAN control, the things that will always matter.

There is light at the end of this tunnel.

The days of being with our loved ones, with each-other are going to come.

For now, we hope that you’re safe, we love you and we’ll be with you soon.

According to Movember UK men die 6 years earlier than women – due to reasons like prostate cancer, testicular cancer or su***de.

The statistics need to change and at Westminster Students' Union and UWSU Cheer we are fundraising and raising awareness with Movember.

As a team, and a community, Westminster Dragons are doing the 4:4:4 challenge 💪

We're Running/Walking/Cycling 4 km (2.5 miles), donating £4 to the Movember link and tagging 4 friends to do the same.

Dragons are a family and we're here to support our guys 🫂

Here us a testimony from our awesome coach Gerwain! Gerwain has competed at every level cheerleading has to offer 🖤🎀💛

I have been a coach with Dragons since 2013. It gives me so much joy to see all the athletes grow and become more confident fitter people and watch them grow tight bonds with others who they otherwise wouldn’t meet.

I started cheer at University myself and went on to compete at the worldwide championships in America 3 times at allstar level!

Cheerleading is a place where you can come challenge yourself to become great at things you never thought you would try and let go of your everyday worries. It’s inclusive of everybody; come as you are and leave better! I couldn’t recommend it enough!

Varsity is the culmination of all dragons effort over the year! Dragon teams compete again University of West London and we make sure that we win! It’s a competitive but fun filled day where everyone is in the black and yellow and cheering each other on! Cheerleaders are pitch side chanting and dancing the day away giving as much support as possible for there fellow dragons, and then when we win, we have a massive massive party!!! We’re looking for our 10th consecutive win this year and you can guarantee we won’t be coming home without that trophy! 🏆💛🖤🐲
