These are the skills that comedians must master and the same ones that help businesses thrive, whether you’re pitching to clients, leading a team, or sparking bold ideas in a brainstorm. Led by Alfie Noakes, a seasoned comedy coach, MC and former BBC radio journalist, TV producer and director (he’s worked with Dr Brian Cox, Tess Daly, and Bill Bailey, to name a few), the Project now helps professionals level up with humour, energy and real-world creative insight. Still, our stand-up roots run deep:

• 30,000 comedy spots created
• 1,000+ students through live and online courses

Our training has helped comedy newcomers become confident performers, skilled MCs, and in some cases, even stars of sitcoms and stand-up specials. We’ve run workshops on everything from clowning to character comedy, satire to story structure, MCing to musical punchlines. Now, we help brands and agencies turn everyday communication into something people actually want to listen to. Fun. Focused. Unforgettable. That’s how we do soft skills.

We Are Funny Project began as a place to explore the craft of stand up comedy and help comedians develop stronger material, confidence and stage presence.

That work continues. Through courses, coaching and resources we still support comedians who want to sharpen their thinking, writing and delivery.

Over time something else became clear.

The skills comedians develop through live performance are not only useful on stage. They are powerful communication tools that translate surprisingly well into the working world.

Stand up teaches people how to:

• think creatively and generate original ideas
• manage nerves under pressure
• establish fast rapport with an audience
• read the room and adjust in real time
• use body language, voice and timing effectively
• hold attention and make ideas memorable

And sometimes something even more valuable than laughter appears.

Levity.

The ability to bring perspective, lighten the atmosphere and help people reconnect when pressure or fatigue builds.

Because of this, We Are Funny Project now also works with agency and creative teams who want to communicate ideas more clearly in high stakes situations. Pitches. Client presentations. Important conversations where the thinking is strong but the delivery can wobble.

So today there are two strands to the work.

• support and education for comedians
• workshops for agency teams focused on storytelling, confidence and communication

Different audiences. The same powerful skill set.
