If productivity and engagement matter this much (and nine in ten CEOs say leadership development is critical), why do so few organisations invest in it?

Only half of UK workers get dedicated time to learn and develop. That gap costs more than most realise.

Most training happens on the job, so managers need to know how to coach well. But being good at a job doesn't mean you're good at teaching it, unless you've actually learned how.

Google's own research into what makes great managers puts "is a good coach" at the top of the list.

The leadership programmes I run deliver 200%+ ROI within 6 months, based conservatively on time-savings alone. Add in engagement and retention gains and it's higher still.

Where do we even start with sustainability?

I hear this a lot. And here's the thing: you don't need to have it all figured out. You just need to start talking about it.

That's what the Climate Business Challenge is all about. It's a 90-minute workshop where I get leaders and teams together to:

✔️ Get sustainability on everyone's radar, not just the "green team"
✔️ Collaborate and swap ideas in the room
✔️ Turn those ideas into the start of a proper strategic vision

No overwhelm. No jargon. No pretending you've got all the answers on day one. Just a practical, fun and honest way to kick things off.

Join me online for 90 minutes on 16th October. DM me or leave me a message below.

Ever wanted a proper handle on climate change, not the headlines, not the doom-scrolling, just the actual fundamental science and its impacts now and going forward?

I'm co-leading a Climate Fresk workshop on 11 September, facilitating alongside the fabulous Jenny Lam.

Climate Fresk is a fun, interactive session where a small group works through a card-sorting game together, piecing together the causes and effects of climate change. No lecture, no opinions, just the IPCC science laid out so you can see how it all connects. You leave with a clear picture in your head, not just facts you'll forget by Friday.

✔️ 10am to 1pm (London time), online. Small fee to keep numbers sensible.

If you've been meaning to actually understand climate change, this is a good way in.

Driving real sustainability in a business is rarely a knowledge problem. It’s a leadership problem.

Most leaders already know why sustainability matters; the hard part is getting buy-in, making space for creative thinking, and embedding it into the company's core strategy.

I’m putting together a new programme specifically for CEOs, business owners, and sustainability leads to tackle exactly that.

Drop me a note in the comments or give me a like and I will get in touch as my plans develop.

It turns out you don't need a massive corporate footprint to make a massive dent in the green transition. 🌍

The latest CBI figures show the UK’s net-zero economy has officially surpassed £100 billion a year. 📈 But here is the stat that actually caught my eye: over 22,000 small businesses are right at the centre of this momentum. 🔨

For a long time, the narrative around sustainability was that it was a luxury reserved for giant corporations with dedicated "green" budgets and compliance teams.

The reality? Smaller businesses are the ones moving the needle.

As SME leaders, building sustainability into your business model isn't about ticking compliance boxes or chasing expensive certifications; it’s about agility. 🏃‍♂️ It's about seeing where a £100B+ market is moving, grabbing a slice of it, and creating jobs that pay roughly 11% higher than the national average.

When doing the right thing for the future also happens to be your biggest competitive advantage, the leadership strategy becomes pretty simple. 🤔 You don't have to change the whole world tomorrow, just the way your corner of it operates.

The full data tells a pretty compelling story: https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2026/jun/02/uk-green-economy-worth-more-than-100bn-a-year-net-zero

For the small business owners in my network—where are you finding the biggest opportunities to weave sustainability into your business model right now? 👇

Reflecting on over 20 years of coaching, my thinking on leadership has shifted.

I used to think about leaders in terms of balance—tough leaders needing to be nicer, or nice leaders needing to be tougher. Today, I prefer a different framework: being strong, kind, and clear.

Clarity is often the missing piece for both types of leaders. True leadership means finding the:

• Strength to know and do what is right
• Kindness to deliver it in a supportive way
• Clarity so people truly understand the what, the why, and the consequences of action or inaction

As you go through your day, take a moment to notice where you see strength, kindness, and clarity in yourself and others.

Have a great day!

Climate isn't an abstract issue anymore. Wildfires across France, Spain and Britain. Droughts. Hosepipe bans and water shortages. Falling farm yields. It's hitting us as individuals, and it's hitting our businesses too.

If you're ready to take climate more seriously and want to kick-start that conversation within your team or organisation, the Climate Business Challenge is worth 90 minutes of your time.

No blame, just a clear look at why we're in this position, how climate change affects us all, and why businesses act the way they do - before shifting into creative and collaborative idea generation and shaping.

This workshop is all about kick-starting how you and your colleagues, teams and business can have a clear rationale for action and can become more collaborative using a structured method to free up your creativity and positivity to develop ideas for climate and competitive advantage impact, and to develop more strategic vision for your business sustainability challenges

DM me or comment below if you are interested. The first session will be in mid-October.
