"Relief and joy" – On Sunday, the RCC took another big win at the Irish National Criterium Championships courtesy of London-based rider .

We caught up with him for a post-race debrief:

"Winning a National Championship race has been a goal since I started cycling, and I've come so close with two 2nd and two 3rd positions in the Time Trial scene. This year, I switched my focus more to crits, as that's where my real passion and excitement for racing lies. As soon as the Irish National Crit Champs were announced to be in Dublin, I knew I had to compete. After a very stressful day before the race with a snapped Di2 cable that led to me having to re-route the cabling with tooth floss as a guide, I was ready to race.

In typical Irish fashion it was sunny and showery all day. It was an extremely technical course so I planned to race on the front foot and that's exactly what I did. A group of five formed early that I was part of, and I then tried unsuccessfully to get away solo a few times. One final attack with five laps to go snapped the elastic at last. Coming down the final straight I knew I had the win, and I felt relief and joy crossing the line.

I feel very proud to win this championship, and to be able to wear the jersey for the next twelve months."

You'll be able to see the new Irish champion racing at on June 13th in London, as he dons the green, white and orange tricolour for the first time.

This weekend, we'll be at the , celebrating the 70th year of the race. It is our sixth year as title sponsor, and we're immensely proud to have played a part in helping the race reach its platinum anniversary.

The Lincoln Grand Prix is one of the crown jewels of domestic road racing, a race whose identity is bound up with the savage cobbled rise of Michaelgate and a winners’ list stretching back to 1956. It is prestigious because everybody knows what it takes to win there: repeated climbs, sharp positioning, and the ability to survive one of the most iconic circuits in British cycling.

The theatre and intensity of the event continues to keep spectators enthralled and racers itching to prove themselves. This year, we'll see new innovations in the way of criterium racing on Saturday evening and an updated course on Sunday, taking on new cobbles and twists around Lincoln Cathedral.

The Rapha H Van will be in Castle Square all weekend, selling Lincoln GP caps, t-shirts and cowbells, and providing refreshment in the form of coffee and .

On Sunday, join us at Corner on Michaelgate to get close to the action and cheer on our RCC racers. Stay tuned to see who will be taking to the start line.

The RCC Racing squad chose a formidable race to debut at. The Rutland-International , the UK’s only single-day UCI road race, stood at a beastly 186km, interspersed with 12 gravel sectors and rough farm tracks that laughed in the face of good form or team tactics. The unpredictable nature of the race reigned, and mechanicals, crashes and splits mercilessly whittled down the peloton – until 180 starters became just 57 finishers in an attritional, dusty and eventful race.

Our RCC team avoided the early crash that stopped the race briefly, but an ill-timed puncture followed by a second mechanical took out of the front group and put an end to his day, .m.jones and were amongst the groups distanced in the dizzying chaos of the twisting, dust-filled sectors, leading a valiant chase but ultimately unable to make it back into contention. With 60km to go, only remained in the race and looked likely to contest a strong position, until a late crash put paid to his chances, though he was one of the chosen few who finished.

This Sunday, we learned that the CiCLE Classic is a force to be reckoned with, and the riders ended the day happy to have started the season together as a team, but tinged with disappointment.

You can watch them return for a shot at redemption at the next Rapha Super-League race, which comes in less than a fortnight at the Rapha on 10 May. We hope to see you there.
