We are part of The Jiu Jitsu Foundation, teaching Japanese Jiu Jitsu to adults and children aged 8+ in North London. We are affiliated with The Jiu Jitsu Foundation (TJJF); the largest single style Jiu-Jitsu organisation in the UK. The martial arts style in which we train is called Shorinji Kan Jiu Jitsu (commonly shortned to 'Jitsu'). Jitsu is derived from the feudal Japanese art of Jiu-Jitsu (al
so known as ju jutsu, ju jitsu or jiu jitsu) and is a practical and modern self-defence based martial art, incorporating joint locks, strikes and throws to deal with a variety of different attacks. With a heavy emphasis on using an opponent's size and momentum against them, Jitsu is suitable for anyone; irrespective of age, strength, weight or gender. Jitsu will help to develop your self confidence and physical fitness (including increased strength, stamina, flexility and core strength) and it's also a great way of meeting new people. Beginners are welcome all year around (all you need to start are some loose, comfortable clothing e.g. tracksuit bottoms and a t-shirt) plus your first session is free so come down and try it out.
