Match Day 1

FC Brick Lane VS Shadwell FC

The first game in the Summer League was always going to be tough after a long break however there was added incentive as we were up against old foes Shadwell FC.

With a lot of new faces it was a bit stop start in the early exchanges however FCBL soon settled in. Early pressure resulted in a penalty midway through the first half for FCBL. Pen missed, was it going to be one of those days. FCBL continued to dominate but couldn't find that decisive finish. Shadwell GK Abdul in top form. A set piece proved pivotal for Shadwell FC as they took the lead. 1-0 half time.

With the pressure on, FCBL knew they had to deliver in the second half. FCBL started to dominate again creating chances. It was Darnell who finally found a way through to make it 1-1. With 15 mins left it was all square and the gaffer Habib rolled the dice, bringing on two strikers, enter Jahid and Jeffrey. It was the returning Jeffrey that made the difference as he caused havoc for the tired Shadwell FC back line. Jeffrey was put through one on one with the Shadwell FC LB, resulting in a penalty. Up stepped Jeffrey to tuck away the pen and secure the 3 points. A hard fought win in match day 1.
