I started beach volleyball training at Wimbledon Park a couple years after the courts were built following the London Olympics . I had played before for fun but never learned Beach Volleyball as a sport. After plenty of practise@ over the years - and so much joy, laughter and friendship - the club asked if I would be a coach for the very first youth programme, and WBVC has supported my journey both as a coach and player ever since! 💛

🍩 Fun Fact: My childhood dream was to work in a donut shop. I really loved donuts! Which is ironic as I’m a Personal Trainer and Yoga Instructor and haven’t touched a donut in ages 😂

💥 Secret Superpower: I love dark chocolate and have the uncanny ability to snag the last piece. Villain material really 🦹‍♀️

🌟𝑾𝒉𝒐’𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒆𝒓 💫 𝑴𝒆𝒆𝒕 𝑴𝒊𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒆𝒍

I switched from indoor to beach volleyball in 2012 following the London Olympics and the arrival of courts across London.

A group of us started training regularly in Wimbledon Park, running open coached sessions on Saturdays and monthly summer socials in the park - it was a pretty special time and helped build the early beach volleyball community around the park!

In 2020, after trying to run the club solo for a while, I realised it was time to bring more people in and help create a proper club structure. I co-chaired WBVC alongside Suzy for several years before taking a step back in 2023. I still coach regularly and help keep the smooth running of the club.

🏆Claim to Fame: My old beach volleyball partner Marek and I used to go toe-to-toe with the Bello brothers… admittedly before they became one of the top teams in the world and while they were still teenagers 🏐

❄️ Fun fact: Jack Frost has also been a challenger on the courts. Beach volleyball in winter?! Bring it on 🥶

🏖️ Sand Squad Fitness Sessions 🏐

Join us for a fun and dynamic beach training session at Wimbledon Beach Volleyball courts! Whether you’re an avid beach volleyball player or have never touched a volleyball before, this session is all about improving your fitness, mobility, and agility on and off the sand.

Designed and led by our coach and Personal Trainer Kerri, these sessions focus on movements used in beach volleyball, but they’re perfect for anyone looking to improve their general fitness or performance in other sports.

✅ Great for all fitness levels

🙌 Get ready for our first Mixed Pairs 2v2 tournament of 2026!

🗓️ Date: Saturday, 14th of February 2026
⌚ Time: 12.30 p.m.-5 p.m.
🎟️ Entry fee: £38 per team
Briefing starts at 12.30 p.m., with games starting promptly at 1 p.m.

Level: improver, intermediate and advanced
Each team must consist of one female and one male player.
Every team is guaranteed a minimum of five games.
