Not to be too earnest about it all, but Pilates helps with everything. It teaches essential movements for sport and dance, helps to prevent injury, and feels great.
Pilates also prepares you to learn new skills. Recently my 15-year-old daughter joined a synchronised skating team after starting ice skating about a year ago. For the uninitiated, this is a lot of progress to make in one year. We did Pilates Reformer while she was first learning to skate to minimize on-ice wobbles and build strength and I think it really helped her. She's my youngest "client" but I also have clients in their 80's. We all want to learn new moves sometimes. Pilates helped me start taking ballet when I was 45. I had been taught my while life that ballet was "stupid", I guess because it took itself too seriously, but I absolutely love it. Pilates helps to make the leap.
In addition to teaching Reformer 1:1’s in my Crouch End studio, I’m starting two new Zoom classes.
Active Pilates, Saturdays at 9:45 am starting 5 April
Restorative Pilates, Thursdays at 9:30 am starting 10 April
Classes are £14 or £125 for 10.
To register, text me at 07889 152459 and I’ll send a link or email [email protected].
Restorative Pilates gently leads muscles to engage and extend so that you feel restored to your fullest self. This class is suitable for people recovering from injury who have clearance from their GP.
Mums and babies in person Pilates classes are happening at Moon Women’s Centre in Dartmouth Park on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and Wednesdays of the month at 9:15 am. Actually, these cuties are my youngest clients, but they learn from watching movements their mums make in class. Lots of babies turn over in class for the first time. (Happy Mothering Sunday, btw).
