Three boring things that can save you a very big headache on retreat.

1️⃣Payment deadlines and methods agreed in writing as some venues still want cash on arrival!

2️⃣A cancellation policy that actually tells everyone what happens.

3️⃣A clear point of contact, so everyone knows who’s accountable and who to call when something goes wrong.

None of this is glamorous.

But these details can make the difference between a problem you’ve anticipated and a problem that suddenly lands on your plate when you’re already running a retreat.

And this is exactly why I don’t think you need more retreat planning advice.

You need someone who can look at the whole picture with you (venue, budget, legal set-up, logistics, marketing and everything in between) and make sure all the pieces actually work together.

That’s exactly what The Retreat Design is built for.

I have 3 spots left for 2027.

Comment DESIGN and I’ll send you the details, or find them via the link in my bio.

A fighter. A dreamer. A problem solver.

If you are here, I have a feeling we should work together.
So for those who do not know me yet — here is a little piece of me. 🌿

Tell me honestly — when you designed your last retreat, were you designing for what you wanted to deliver or for what your participants actually needed?

There is something about going back to where you’re from.

The streets that knew you before everything else. The air that feel like a cuddle.

Your shoulders drop. You slow down. And for a moment you feel like a kid again, in the best possible way.

Home does that. Nothing else quite like it.

Where is the place that does this for you?

Before we touch a venue, a date, or a budget I ask three questions.

1️⃣Why now.
2️⃣Who this is actually for.
3️⃣And whether they have the capacity to make it happen.

The answers tell me almost everything I need to know. And they surface most of the problems before anything gets signed.

The full piece on this goes live on the blog next Tuesday. Save this for when you’re in the early stages.

When Bibi ॐ Yoga Seeker - Yoga Teacher 600h+ told me she wanted to host somewhere off the grid - somewhere new for her too, not just her audience - I knew exactly where to look.

Labanoras Forest, Lithuania. Part of one of the largest protected forests in the country. Dense pine, quiet lakes, and barely any tourist infrastructure. Which is exactly the point.
She wanted tranquillity. Real nature immersion. Not a retreat venue with a forest view, but an actual forest.

Labanoras gives her both. Remote without being inaccessible. Quiet in a way that’s hard to manufacture. And completely unfamiliar territory for her, which is exactly what she was looking for.

This is one of my favourite parts of this work. Not just sourcing a venue, but finding the place that matches what someone is actually trying to create.

Tag a facilitator who’d love a retreat like this.
retreat venue sourcing, yoga retreat Lithuania, nature immersion retreat, off the grid retreat, forest retreat Europe, retreat destination, wellness retreat location

Most retreat leaders validate the wrong thing.

They measure interest. Comments, poll responses, DMs full of excitement.

None of that tells you whether someone will actually pay.

Real validation is a specific ask at a real price point and watching what happens next.
I wrote the full breakdown on the blog this week.

Before you open your booking link: what do you actually know about the person you’re selling to?

Not who you hope will come. Who will.

Three things to look at before any retreat goes to market. Save this one for when you’re in the planning stages or check out The Groundwork if you want to work on this together.

“I’d love to come” is not a booking.

It’s not even close to one.

And designing your retreat around the assumption that it is will cost you — financially and emotionally.

Next Tuesday I’m publishing a full piece on exactly this gap and how to navigate it. If this resonated, you’ll want to read it.

Have you ever launched a retreat and been surprised by the gap between the interest and the actual sign ups? Tell me in the comments.
