NAL match #1 report - part 6- joint effort from Manuel and Phil 🙏

• Sam Costley's long day started with a win in the mens steeple chase in 9:09, backed up well by Oli Newton who clocked 9:56 to win the B string. Despite tripping over a barrier, Mawgan Andrew, did well to be the first non-scorer by nearly 1 minute with 10:23.87. Sam then went on the take the win in the 5000m B string behind TVH legend Mo Aadan who won the A string in 14:52 despite the brutal heat.
• The 110m hurdles saw a return of Rob O'Brien who placed 5th in the B string. Callum Holder made an impressive NAL debut with a third place in 14.64 in the A string
• It is no surprise to us that TVH's 4x100m team of Reece Earle, Joel Houslin, Keano- Elliott and Owen Keenlyside took a convincing win in 40.28
• However, it really shows the incredible level of competition at the NAL that the 4x400m team of Danny Trowell, Kristian Samwell-Nash, Luseni Conteh and Ricardo Dos Santos took only 4th place with Ricardo clocking a 47.6s leg!

Shout out also to 13 year old Luis da Silva in particular who showed team management is clearly in the blood as he spent the match giving out numbers, organising non-scorers and ensuring our team were ready to compete.

Well done again to everyone from TVH's vital officials, coaches, parents and athletes - what a team we are together!

NAL match #1 report - part 5- joint effort from Manuel and Phil 🙏

Track
• Youngster Danny Trowell started the day off with a 7th place in a SB performance of 57.73s in the 400m hurdles. Quickly becoming a TVH hero, Rob O'Brien stepped up from his usual 110m hurdles to do the 400m hurdles - a courageous act of devotion to the team. He smashed his previous PB to run 59.05 and take 5th in the B.
• In the middle distance it was Alex Rowe who completed a magnificient double, taking 4th and 3rd B in the 800m and 1500m respectively. Rory Bradford clocked an impressive SB 1:55 to take 5th in the A 800m and Louis Moore kindly used his A level revision break effectively to storm to a third place finish in the 1500m A.
• The mens 100m was a glorious event for TVH with Jody Smith taking the win in 10.38 in A and Daniel Offiah taking the win in the B with 10.66. There were more impressive 100m performances in the non-scoring races with Joe George and Reece Earle taking a 1 2 in the first race with 11.02 and 11.10, respectively. Owen Keenlyside stormed to victory non-scoring race 2 in 10.88. Keano Paris-Samuel was 3rd in race 3 in 10.94
• Another maximum points, double win, came from the iconic Ricardo Dos Santos in 46.73 and rising star Luseni Conteh in a big PB of 47.63. Kristian Samwell-Nash ensured TVH maintained a 100% victory record in the 400m by taking the non-scoring race in 49.58
• The sprints joy continued in the 200m with a second place from Daniel Offiah in the A with 21.18 and a win in the B from Joel Houslin in 21.22 . It was also noted that non scorer Owen Keenlyside won his 200m race in a PB and U18 club record of 21.08 which was the highest age graded performance of the whole meeting. Keano Paris-Samuel looked to be back to his best taking 2nd in that non-scoring race behind Owen with a fast season's best of 21.57

Men
What a force you have become, beating the next mens team by over 50 points and getting maximum points in 6 events! 

Field
• The TVH mens pole vault team were smaller than we'd have liked but Jack Harris started the day off with an overall win in 4.71m! Team manager Manuel got a great view of the event as a competitor fighting with the opening height in the B string.
• Luke Lammie and Andre Pereira Carneiro kept the points ball rolling well in the discus (6th A 44.83m and 4th B 40.24m)
• The long jump was one of the strongest events of the day with Archie Yeo and Regan Corrin taking the overall 1-2 with 7.78m and 7.54m 
• In the hammer, Sam Mace threw a 52.51m, only a mere 17cm off his SB. New father Jack Paget went to war with the cage but we know he will be back stronger than ever next match with maybe some more sleep!
• There were big points gained for TVH in the mens shot putt with Alfie Williams winning the B in 15.20m and Luke Lammie taking second the A with 15.69m.
• In the high jump, Joel Clarke-Khan battled to third in the A in 2.09m, with Regan Corrin back in action to win the B in 2.05m.
• Ochuko Edward triple jumped a huge PB of 44cm to reach 14.24m and take 6th in the A string. In the challenging windy conditions, Lewis Sorhaindo struggled to find the board but showed resilience in getting back in action the very next day in the YDL.
• TVH javelin duo of Gavin Johnson Assoon and Michael Jordan scored big points, Gavin took took 3rd in the A with a season's best 60.50. Michael was only 10cm behind and went over 60m for the first time to win the B string,  60.40m PB. The additional competition practice in the SAL last week clearly paid off!

NAL match #1 report - part 3 - joint effort from Manuel and Phil 🙏

Track
• In the first track event, the 400m hurdles, it was great to welcome a NAL debut in the 400m hurdles, Louisa Snape 5th in the A string 67.35, Louisa also went to on run a great opening leg for the 4x400m team. It was also nice Aisha Naibe-Wey back to the team, she gave her all to finish 4th in 65.81
• In the middle distance it was a double win (800m/1500m) from Charlotte Buckley. Natasha Bennett fought all the way to the line for a great 2nd place in the B string 800m. Lara Sterritt ensured the team scored maximum points in the 1500m and was always well placed in the race coming home with a win in the B string (3rd overall).
• Taking on the 100m/200m and sprint relay were the reliable due Elise Modeste and Akaysha Ellis. Into a -2.3 wind Elise ran a fast 12.03 for 4th in the A string and 3rd in the B string 200m 24.62. Akaysha took two brilliant 2nd place finishes (B string 100m and A string 200m).
• It was a clean sweep of victories and maximum points for TVH in the 400m. In a well paced race Louise Evans looked strong to win the A string in 53.52. Catherine Reynolds also timed her race perfectly to win the B string in 55.88.
• The steeplechase had two TVH NAL debutants who both smashed TVH club records. World age group record holder, Kirstie Booth, set a new TVH V45 club record record with 11:13.43 and Ana Derbaix Esteve set a new TVH U20 club record and PB in 11:18.85. Tash Mundell also had a brilliant run to score maximum points in the B string with a PB of 12:08, Tash helped the team score maximum officiating points and always a very supportive SAL team manager.
• In a very hot 5000m race, Izzy Franco ran away from the field on the first lap and stormed to a 30s victory with a strong 17:25.18. V40 Lisa da Silva added to the points collection with a 4th place finish in the B string in 19:26, just 10 seconds shy of 2nd.
• After a strong 3rd place in the non-scoring 100m, Patricia Grud-Edmondson ran a brilliant 1st leg in the 4x100m, the team (Patricia, Louise, Akaysha and Elise) did well to take 5th

Here is a "quick" summary of some of the highlights:

Women
You are the best, we are so proud of your efforts, we beat the next ladies team by 60 points. There were so many highlights, sorry for not mentioning everyone:

Field
• Amazing start to the day in the jumps from long/high jump duo Jess Lee and Pippa Rogan. A double win by Jess (A string LJ 6.12m PB, B string HJ 1.66m) and two 2nd places from Pippa (B string LJ 5.54m and A string HJ 1.73m)
• There was another brilliant NAL debut from Amelia Fettis finishing 2nd in the B string with 57.44m and Kayleigh Presswell had another string performance to finish 3rd in the A string with 59.72m
• Over to the outside cage, TVH heroic captain, Sophie Mace, beat some of her rivals for the first time to take an outstanding A string victory with 47.89m. Emelina Darvell also had a great series of throws, finishing 2nd in the B string with 41.54.
• Two 3rd places in the javelin with Harriet Court opening her season in the middle of A level exams and revision (45.11m). Great to have Sarah De Kremer looking strong after over a year out due to injury with 41.63m. 
• Winning the A sting for the first time at NAL was the superb Cerys Aboagye 13.55m and captain Sophie back her up well with 3rd place in the B string.
• It was difficult conditions for the triple jumpers, not just the heat but the wind kept changing resulting in lots of no jumps from all competitors. Making a fantastic TVH debut was Jasmine Hulland who took a victory in the B string with 11.87m to back up her TVH legend sister Lily who took 3rd place in the A string with 12.34.
• One of TVH's strongest events is the women's pole vault. With world indoor champion Molly Caudery supporting from the side, TVH had three amazing pole vaulters vaulting in tricky windy conditions. Nemiah Munir, Felicia Miloro and Eva Kutman, with a 2nd (Nemiah 2nd A string 4.11m), 3rd (Felicia 1st B string 3.91m) and 4th(Eva 3.81m)scoring nearly maximum points for the team.

NAL match #1 report - part 1- joint effort from Manuel and Phil 🙏

It was such an incredible team effort on Saturday - you are all amazing. Thank for making it such an enjoyable day - from welcoming TVH new stars making their debuts to TVH's older supporters and volunteers - TVH are a great shining light to NAL and club athletics.

TVH smashed all predictions with lots of season bests, PB's and club records to win the match by over 100 points.

TVH Field Athlete of the Match - Jessica Lee - a PB her first A string win against very good opposition in the long jump 6.12m and a brilliant win in the B string in the high jump with a seasons best 1.66m. 

TVH Track Athlete of the Match - Charlotte Buckley- the standout ladies middle distance athlete at Derby with brilliant 800m and 1500m A string wins and also finished the day with a speedy leg in the 4x400m.

TVH Club Athlete of the Match - Akaysha Ellis - always a joy to have as part of the team and willing to do everything to help. Due to a late injury Akaysha completely switch round her events from the individual 400m to drop down to do a 100m and 200m sprint double. Akaysha ran her second quickest 100m race to finish 2nd in the B string in 11.78, stepped up to the A string 200m and into a -1.8 wind race a brilliant 22.14 to finish 2nd and rounded up the day with a very good 4x100m leg for the team. 

TVH Field Athlete of the Match - Regan Corrin -
 A huge points haul with 2nd place overall and 1st in the B string in the long jump followed by a B string win in a competitive high jump competition!

TVH Track Athlete of the Match - Luseni Conteh - Having impressed at the YDL and SAL with 49 second 400m performances, 17 year old Luseni was invited to the team to get further experience but he clearly thrived on the big stage and took a huge chunk off his PB to run 47.63 for an U18 club record and a win the B string 400m race.

TVH Club Athlete of the Match - Sam Costley - to be asked to do a 3kSC and 5000m track double on any day would be a huge ask, but to do it on your TVH debut and come away with a A string win in the steeple and a B string in the 5000 is heroic.

YDL Match #2 report - by the fantastic new team manager Doreen Evans 💃

The second YDL match of the season took place this sunny, ridiculously HOT Sunday, 24th May at Jarman Park, Hemel Hempstead. TVH, as part of Team West London with Ealing & Southall AC, fronted a limited number of athletes who all worked fantastically together and filled a surprising number of events.

All athletes went outside their comfort zones to try and maximise the points scored and aimed for a win, to follow on from the success of the first match in April. As a team we were exceptionally short of women and would have welcomed more athletes but, as we are right in the middle of exams, it’s a hard one to fill. Most athletes competed in an event they wouldn’t normally and claimed points for the Team West London along the way.

Arabella Nichol completed a good 3000m run in very HOT conditions, with only one other runner and manual timing. She picked up maximum points for the team. Ki-Myrah Lamey came and jumped and Zoe Dolan hurdled down the blistering track. Kayanne Brown & Kate Campbell were the other two female jumpers, taking first place in A & B string. Sofia Hernarwushu, Kate Campbell, Ibuken Adenubi & H**e Evans also dabbled in some throws! TVH supplied the female sprinter for the meet and took the points. The U20W team steamed home to a win in the 4 x 100m relay.

Luke Lo U20M made his first appearance at a YDL and took maximum points in the 100m. Roshaun Williams ran up and placed for the U20M 200m. The U20M stormed home in the 4x100m securing maximum points. Lewis Sorhindo came to Hemel, fresh from Derby and secured the Triple Jump.
