Six months ago Michael was at a crossroads—running his own design business but feeling:

The Winning Formula for 2025

Ditch those rigid resolutions now. You know you're going to anyway.

They don't work.

New Year's resolutions can feel inspiring in the moment, but the statistics paint a challenging picture:

Around 80% of resolutions fail by February, according to studies.
Only 8-10% of people successfully stick to their resolutions long-term.

Why? Because most resolutions:

• Focus on outcomes, not the process. People aim for big results without considering the daily habits or systems needed to achieve them.
• Aren’t aligned with deeper values. Without a personal connection to why the goal matters, motivation fades quickly.
• Rely on willpower alone. Willpower is finite; sustainable change comes from creating systems and building momentum.

But here’s the good news:
Resolutions can work if you shift your approach.

Instead of focusing on rigid outcomes, focus on orientation—setting a direction based on your purpose and values—and embrace growth as your guiding principle.

I made a conscious choice to change my approach to goals.

I see myself as being on the Orient Express.
Now, life feels like a beautiful train ride. 🚂

I’m still smashing outrageous goals, but instead of battling myself and the world, I’m fully present, taking in every moment.

There’s joy in the journey, not just in the destination.

In fact I've realised that the journey IS the destination.
