Shinty is a fast paced and exciting field sport played with a caman (stick) and a cork-based ball. It is simila

r to hurling and hockey and is played with 12 players on each team. Find out more about shinty here - http://www.shinty.com/shinty/playing-shinty/how-shinty-is-played/

Shinty has had a long history in London with records of matches being played from the 1800s onwards, with 8 team in pre-WW1 London including London Camanachd which continues to this day. Since then it has grown to welcome those who played at University or College in Scotland and those who tried shinty for the first time in London.

Yesterday's English Shinty League Match result. London Camanachd secured a home-win against a strong Bristol Camanachd team. While Bristol enjoyed a majority of possession, Lady Luck and a determined keeper managed to keep them out of the net enough for London's chances to keep them in the lead.

Game Day: A Captains View

Big day in West London as we hosted Cornwall who unfortunately did just enough to take the win on the day.

Next game for the mighty blues is against Bristol on 22nd August so be sure to have that marked in the calendar.
