After having my first baby nearly 11 years ago, I remember feeling completely disconnected from my body.
I had awful back pain, my knees hurt, and there was this strange empty feeling through my tummy that I couldn’t quite explain. I didn’t feel weak exactly but I didn’t feel like myself.
At the time, I assumed it was all just part of becoming a mum.
But as I trained and studied postnatal recovery, I realised how much our bodies go through during pregnancy, birth and a C-section. Understanding what was happening and learning how to reconnect with my body through Pilates, changed everything.
It eased the back pain, helped me feel stronger through my core, and gradually gave me the confidence to move, exercise, and eventually run again.
It’s why helping other mums through their own recovery feels so personal to me.
Because I know what it’s like to wonder if you’ll ever feel like yourself again.
