We'd love to welcome you to our studio in Clapham for a free trial of one or more of our dance classes. Classes are held at all levels of training

up to Advanced 1 Vocational Graded Exam level from complete beginners of any age, (starting from age 3). Children or adults with disabilities are welcome, and we think dancing should be for EVERYONE, so have a policy that if three or more children from the same family attend during any term, you only pay for the first two. There are classes for those who want to get fit, have fun and make new friends, release some stress, or at the other end of the scale, aspire to a career in dance. Why not try a class, or contact us to see if there are any extra activities you can join in, (e.g. Christmas Party, theatre outing, watching a school show), to get a feel for our classes.

... till this term starts at our dance classes in Clapham on Saturday 5th September. 🕰️Today Arwen (one of our teenagers) and her family, at the station were the latest "Miss Joan" I've heard in the street. 🎵🎶🎭🩰
I'm really looking forward to seeing all our little children aged 3 and 4, who I haven't bumped into in the street while they're hanging out with their friends and are too young to attend our holiday Ballet, Tap, and Modern Theatre rehearsals for our Autumn Show. 🎵🎶🎭🩰(Not forgetting the adults who will be pracising for their Children-in-Need Tapathon at The Clapham Grand in November 🎵🎶🎭and those who will be using those rested muscles in our Adult Ballet classes).🩰

It can be frustrating to teenagers when they feel things are at a standstill and there's no progress in their abilities and opportunities - expecially in this age of everything being 'instant'. (But even I remember feeling that way long before the days of the internet). 🎭🩰🙏⭐
This board a friend noticed at the Underground Station is a great attitude to come to our dance classes in Clapham with though! (Bravo Morden Station). Working hard is one thing, putting unnecessary stress on yourself is overwhelming for your body and WON'T help it perform to its limits.
(And makes for a much happier life too ...) 🎶🎵🎭🩰🌈❤️

Following your dreams in childhood helps you believe in possibilities, learn that the journey can be enjoyable and that it's not the end of the world (and your dreams) when things don't work out. 🎶🎵🎭🩰
None of these three six-year olds went on to follow a career in dance, though they all danced till 18 - and the middle one passed her ISTD DDE Imperial Ballet teachers' exam and teaches our Primaries as well as having a full-time career as Head of a Science Department in a Secondary School. 🎶🎵🎭🩰
Limiting children's aspirations to save them potential struggle and heartache can really take the magic away from their world. (And this world IS full of magic; ✨🌙I've seen it happen; bodies changing, strength growing, confidence blooming and mental abilities transformed)! 🎶🎵🎭🩰❤️

When you're choosing a class for younger children, you probably think it isn't as important as if you're enrolling someone with vocational aspieations, or who's older and interested in taking exams. 🎶🎵🎭

WRONG! The younger the child, the more important it is that they're taught by someone with anatomical and technical knowledge so they not only fulfill their potential, but also learn without risk of acute injury, damage to muscles and joints over time, or damage to physical developmemt. Of course, with ANY age, the best way to aid all these concepts is with fun and interesting and imaginative motivation! 🎶🎵🎭

... returned from Dance Teachers' Conference yesterday and this quote was framed in the hotel!
A journey has a destination and ending, which can lead to huge stresses, disappointment and exhaustion by the time you get there, leaving you wondering why you bothered in the first place!

An adventure lets the journey continue for life, and leads to all kinds of bumps, swerves, new friends, new experiences and new learning on the road ...

This OLD photo of a dance group I performed with in Turkey, shows us on the stage at Ephesus. We all had our respective dreams once, of joining The Royal Ballet, becoming the next pop star, Ginger Rogers or Meryl Streep (yes, it was that long ago), but we had the best time ever in Turkey and my hope is that your dance journey will be like that (BONUS: with dance and ANYTHING, if you're enjoying the ride, you'll get there quicker if you are about the technical brilliance)!

We want our little ones and pre-schoolers to see the adventure in every class, using their imagination, gaining social skills and new friends and living in the moment (and adults too of course; you HAVE to be mindful while dancing, so it is a break from your 'phone)
